"The leveling system works differently now. Perks are tied to SPECIAL stats, and not levels. Having specific high special stats means having good related perks." annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd my interest has just been killed.

I am probably gonna regret this, but why has your interest been killed?

because some perks in previous games werent related to SPECIAL stats?

It's not a bad thing?
It means you can't be good at everything.
Speaking of romances:
Kinda ironic. I wished there were some romance options in New Vegas because it had interesting characters (Cass!
).
But Fallout 3 and Skyrim? Not so much. I don't expect Fallout 4 to be much different in that case.
Probably a greeting line changes here and there, because Bethesda companions are usually not tied to any quests and are just there to look cool or be a meatshield/walking radar. ![]()
No it means Bethesda is now restricting me on something I could have gotten if they didn't axe skills and tie everything to SPECIAL which is a idiotic decision that continues to restrict the gamer, just like the horrible system in Skyrim. You could not be good at everything in 1,2 and NV, so that argument does not work for this stupid restriction. Now I'll just wait till modders fix it before I buy it.

I guess the wife or husbando is dead and gone , I can't imagine Bethesda going anywhere with this "So you cheated on me???!what bout our familly!?"/"You were married!"...

This article has a bit more info than the IGN write up

Well they do keep touting the whole "sole survivor" thing, so I am guessing mom/dad and the baby are long gone.
There will be video's up on the website about every S.P.E.C.I.A.L in the coming days or weeks.

The baby is still probably going to be around. I doubt Bethesda would go to the trouble of actually rendering what the baby would look like between the two characters you create to just off em 2 seconds later. The husband/wife though is probably a goner.

"Hello lover, do you wish to trade with me?" lol
For the record, I'm not happy about skills being jettisoned. There was no way whatsoever that you could be good at everything.
They are pissing off alot of fans with this one. No skills, voiced protagonist. I am abit curious to see how it will be at launch.
Leaving a link for a thread from the Fallout 4 forum, a guy that was on quakecon wrote down his report. http://forums.bethso...uakecon-report/
It'd be interesting if the husband/wife survives and runs across you in the story and you have to choose between them and who you are romancing (should you choose to romance).

These actually sounded like something to look forward to when I read it in the live feed. They are evidently using the old 50's/60's style documentary format...like "duck and cover." ![]()

If you have 28 Special points to begin with, then 7 from Bobbleheads and lets say 14 from Implants/Quest rewards you will get access to 42 perks during one playthrough since it is not tied to level. Meaning there are 28 you can't get in that playthrough. Now you only need to lvl up to get the perk, so it is more or less like Skyrim's system, only tied to attributes.
Why is the article touting factions fighting each other as if it's a new feature?
it was present in both Fallout 3 and New Vegas. It's pretty standard fare for open world games.
