As far as I know Max von Sydow was barely there, neither was Mike Hogan or Chris Plummer..

Yeah, you have a point. Although I think their performances were long enough to provide impact. Especially Joan Allen and Plummer. People felt strongly about both characters, for better or worse.

While Septim and Fallout dad were more like window dressing. I barely gave a thought to them after immersing in the game.

I suppose you could say it's a slight improvement over Oblivion's & Fallout's uncanny nature of having all the NPCs eerily conversing with them selves while making creepy eye contact. Only by a small margin though.

Max Von Sydow voiced Esbern, and he wasn't in it as much as i hoped. Plummer as Arngeir though was very good and actually had alot of dialogue. We forgot about Sean Bean from Oblivion as Martin, as he was with us the whole game actually.

Woah... Sean Bean was Martin? I didn't know that.

Man, he really can't get a gig where his character doesn't die.

In Ronin he didn't die, he was just kicked out of the plot halfway through -- Quite litterally.

And that's why the movie was ass.

On a side note, he also didn't die in National Treasure which was also a horrible movie.

I thought he did die in that? In one of the booby traps?

Nah, he was arrested at the end.

"Somebody's gotta go to jail"

Edit:  Also didn't die in the Sharpe's tv series.

The best piece i've read on what was learned at Quakecon. It is three pages so its a lengthy read, but worth it if you want to know more.

Interesting, so they really have rolled perks and skills together. I was worried that they had just dropped the concept of skills entirely. I suppose this could still work pretty well if they do it right. In Savage Worlds, for example, you get two points every time you level up that can either be spent to raise your attributes, raise your skills, take a perk, or learn a spell, and as far as I've seen, this doesn't have any negative impact on the player's ability to create unique characters. Guess I'll just have to wait for more deatils, and see how Fallout 4 turns out. Can't be worse than skills in Skyrim, right?

I hope there's more songs on the radio. Both Fallout 3 and New Vegas had a lack of them. 30-40 songs isn't enough. GTA V has over 400 songs, now admittedly, you're not driving in Fallout to warrant that many songs so at least 100 would be enough to make the radio more diverse. I found a lot of songs repeated in New Vegas which featured only 27 songs in total.

I'm hoping that the lack of an explicit RPG skill system will make this game a bit harder to crack for the min-maxers but maybe it's inevitable.

I'm insanely excited for fallout 4  ^_^. Looking forward to revisiting that setting and seeing all the new aspects of the game.

So since the Robot can say any name you generate, will the new thing be to make a name the Robot can't say?

Why do I get the feeling that youtube will soon be filled with videos created by young men who think it's just completely fascinating that Mr. Handy can't say the n word?

Fallout needs some more Sinatra in its soundtrack.

Has anybody actually seen proof of this? Or is this still just based on the fact that there is no "Skill" dial on one video of the PipBoy?

In some of the gameinformer information linked earlier skills are entirely out, but they're supposedly "linked" with your SPECIAL.
