In some of the gameinformer information linked earlier skills are entirely out, but they're supposedly "linked" with your SPECIAL.
Really? That's... wildly disappointing.

Meh. I would have preferred if they kept the skills but the game could work fine in practice. Bethesda has some experience on that front.
In Skyrim, for example, skills were little more than just a doorway to perks.
And that's why the movie was ass.
On a side note, he also didn't die in National Treasure which was also a horrible movie.
And Silent Hill... Which was another terrible movie. I am sensing a theme here. :')

I agree, but at the same time i don't think skills was very exciting or deep. Static numbers where some changed per 1 value and some per 25 value. What it did on the other hand was helping you flesh out the roleplaying abit more, you could be great at bartering and still bad with people in terms of speech. It wouldn't really have cost them anything to keep the skills, but Bethesda likes to smash stuff together. Like in Skyrim.
Still it seems like perks that are built on earlier skills will still offer that variety. Like i said good at bartering, but not good at speech. There are 70 unique perks and some have more than one rank, i think it amounts to about 240 perks in total. Also read that skill books now might give a perk rank instead, which could be a good solution. The system as we've read so far still seems to be able to produce unique characters, but i guess we'll have to play to see.

Everyone is worried about skills and I just don't know if that is legitimate thing to worry about. The perks seem like they mostly will work the same but without skills to also restrict the perk or whatever. But what I think people should be worried about is if its playable on Playstation when it releases. I recall Skyrim being a mess with the saves constantly getting big, so big that the saves became GBs and I know pc players had to make mods to fix Skyrim on PC. Only thing I liked about the broken Skyrim is the ability to level up crafting skills to 100 in a jip, were those the days.

That was due to the PS3's bitchy architecture. The PS4 is unlikely to have that problem.

Well there is also PC had to fix the game with mods
Would it be too weird to still have the Redsox baseball team?

Also the PS3 wasn't the issue the issue was because it wasn't ported correctly to PS3. Also PS3 exclusives worked fine and so did COD games. All games that were multiplatform were first made on the 360 then ported to PS3
Both the PS4 and Xbox One are quite similar to a PC, so porting it won't be a problem. There will always be bugs, it is after all a open world game and way to many variables to control before launch. I am more worried that the game will need alot of unofficial patches to run. Hoping Bethesda has learned from Skyrim and other games they made.

Yeah but a big reason the port was so bad was due to said architecture. Cod is a special case since they have enough money to buy a country.

No... it would be weird to have them winning.
low blow

They should make a Redsox faction, that would be a cool thing for Boston local fans of fallout.
Fallout 4 challenge, make a name that Codsworth can't say. I hear there will be a achievement/Trophy for such a thing.

At this rate, I don't think Bethesda can disappoint me any further.

I don't know... fully cinematic "romance" scenes?
I don't know, wonky sex animations would be amazing.

I would be more worried about underwear sex lol. Oh Bioware why did you go that route with ME2 and 3.
