It is a Bethesda game, so I'm sure some setup will be broken and let you faceroll combat =P
Nah, I'm sure it'll be lots of fun until the level scaling system turns every enemy in the game into an nightmarish bullet sponge.

FIFY.

I like the level scaling system (if it's a well done system) over the system with no scaling, but with enemies spawned at random; like when I move 1 meter too far to the right, on my course to the main quest, I can be killed by a wandering deathclaw, that given the balancing in the game shouldn't be there and you can't imagine he's there.

Didn't they say level scaling will be limited? Like "stuff in this area scales from x to y" and such?
The Gamescom presentation certainly showed that combat is going to be way more dynamic. Not sure what difficulty settings that was played with, but I can absolutely see that simple run'n'gun #yolostrats is going to be tough work if you'd play on a higher difficulty than what was shows, which roundabout means that the emphasis on smart gameplay is an important thing, unlike the standard FO3 mentality of equip-combatshotgun+powerarmor->GG.
Also, environmental firefight hazards such as generators, fuel containers and such is much more prevalent, so with clever positioning and using such opportunities ... much BOOM to be had.
Also, melee VATS seems to be improved some more, which is only a good thing of course (nasty razerblade bat, kekeke).
On the other hand, it means I'll actually play through to the ending of the main quest rather than stopping at the last mission.
You're going to have to explain this one to me. Why wouldn't you just finish a game designed to be finished? I get some games try to be open ended, but not all games do.
I suppose it means that they will play almost to the end of the main quest and then attempt to finish the rest of the game's side content. Which, for a Bethesda game, could equal "never" for many people.
In New Vegas it was very doable inside of seventy hours
Always wondered why they named it Fallout 3, wouldn't it have been easier to just do it as a spin-off? Fallout - title here.
It echoes a lot of the same story beats as the previous two games - a young Vault Dweller leaves the Vault, humans of the wastes are threatened by Super Mutants (and then the Enclave), the GECK is involved, the Brotherhood of Steel play a role, and the main character becomes a legendary figure among the people.
And that's the problem.
And that's the problem.
Has it been confirmed anywhere that androids and the Institute play a major role? Or is that just speculation from that old guy in Rivet City in F3?

It's a guess, I believe, Though I think it's a pretty good one
I mean "The Institute" is pretty clearly MIT, in the neighborhood of where Fallout 4 will be.

Eh, I think they believe that Fallout is about the aftermath of a nuclear war rather than continuing a society. Honestly I'm happy that we're moving away from the west.

In a few months it'll have plenty.

random thought - you are an android even before the war
There will be plenty of androids once the game is released and everyone begins playing their characters.
There will be plenty of androids because Windows doesn't exist in that continuity.
Friend of mine linked me this Tod "Molyneux" Howard interview, but unfortunately I still haven't watched it.

It's because in a Bethesda game there's generally a lot of other content to do. The main quest makes up a pretty small fraction of the total content in the game, so naturally people want to keep playing and see all of that content.
but if you go through and actually finish it, then it just ends the game. At best I'll play through it once just to see it, load an earlier save, and then completely ignore it if it's an ending like that.
A Bethesda game really isn't designed to be finished just because you complete the main quest line.

Sorry but my character is a special snowflake, my character will be human ![]()
