I thought dual wielding has been already confirmed? At least that's what I've read on the offical Bethesda forums.

Finally managed to start with Fallout 3. Just did Mothership Zeta to get that crap out of the way,but it was actually alot more fun this time around. The audio logs are priceless and i like the characters.

I don't think dual wielding is confirmed by Bethesda yet, but according to some perk speculation it seems to be a thing.

How are they going to fit all these buttons in on the Xbox controller?

Let's count. We have a dedicated button for grenades, a dedicated button for melee, a dedicated button for sprinting. I assume we'll still be able to switch immediately between first and third person. We still have VATS. We have to be able to crouch.

Assume they keep the right thumb buttons for Pip-boy, Jump, Reload/Draw/Holster, and Activate and keep the D-pad as a hotkey, that leaves them with the two bumpers and clicking the sticks to throw grenades, meele, crouch, sprint, activate VATS, and switch camera? Six functions?

The controller is rarely used to its optimum efficiency.

No trigger - four buttons and two shoulders
Hold Right trigger - four buttons and two shoulders
Hold Left trigger - four buttons and two shoulders
Hold Both triggers - four buttons and two shoulders

If you can't map your console game to twenty four button combinations, you probably shouldn't be releasing it on console.

I thought combat controls were suppose to be similar to Skyrim but Fallout world style lol

I bought a used copy of Fallout New Vegas yesterday. So much fun.

The guy at gamestop mentioned if a customer buys both the Fallout 4 game and  the collectiors edition guidebook, the individual will receive a 20% discount and if that individual is a  member of gamestop will receive an even a bigger discount. Since I already preordered the game and book, I wasn't worried about it

Yeah I started playing new vegas again and I realized how heavily modded it was last time I played it.

Things I thought where part of the game actually arent in it. Grenade hot key, many many guns, etc.

It feels weird. I dont like it.

As a The Shadow™ fan I strongly disagree.

So what is the word of Fallout 4? Does it look like we can expect anything new or is it the same old Bethesda game only with VO and Dialogue wheel?

I do have to wonder if Fallout 4 will be as well received as previous titles in Bethesda's lineup or if the bar has been raised to the point where just releasing a big game isn't good enough anymore?

To be honest yeah, Bethesda's previous games never really managed to draw me in and capture my interest, in the end the games seemed to be more about filling in the player's time with a series of bland, disconnected objectives to tick off on your way to 100% completion than offering a great RPG, sure the games boast over 300 hours of content but when the game can't even hold your interest for even half that time with mods even what is the point?

I always felt like what Bethesda lacks in dialogue and plot they made up for in lore and envoirmental storytelling and it has been enough, for me atleast. I don't think Fallout 4 will be that different from their last few games and alot like Skyrim, just improved. I am hopeful that it will be more, but even if its not there is still a 99% chance i will love it and play it for a 1000 hours before TES VI comes out.

You can say it a billion times, it doesn't become a renowned truth because of repetition.

It's true though. FONV is more in line with the originals and as such a better fallout game. FO3 is a good game but not a good fallout game.

I thought this was a Fallout 4 thread and not a never-ending Fallout 3 vs New Vegas thread?

Yeah if you pre-order it off the marketplace.  Wish they would hurry up and make some of Bethesda titles Backward compatible.

In a way, i kinda find it hard for people not to already have F3.

for anyone who has a slight interest in it anyway

Also getting pretty far in fallout shelter.

I'm just in fear that all my people will die once the deathclaws start coming

The modding scene is basically insurance against the game failing at this point.

The bar really hasn't been raised because nobody has really done what Bethesda is doing except Obsidian with New Vegas. Not even TW3 or DA:I with their larger maps is really the same thing as Skyrim or Fallout.

Unfortunately having a voiced protagonist is going to make modding new stories into the game a bit harder this time.
