I just finished New Vegas. I made a save before dealing with the deathclaws at the Quarry. I decided to use my sniper rifle to kill them very easily. I reloaded the save and used "Knock Knock" to deal with the deathclaws. Not bad. I ended up using 3 stimpaks. Looking forward to dealing with deathclaws in Fallout 4. Hopefully there will be a lot of them in the game. It would be nice to have dual deathclaw gauntlets

Definately. I'm kinda curious what the balance issue of FO4 will be. I feel like it's going to involve the power armor in some way.

My guess would be the power armour as well, since that's their big revamp for this game. Odds are they'll end up going overboard with it and then we'll bring it back down with mods.

Stealth is also generally a pretty good bet for Bethesda, which is unfortunate because I actually like playing stealthy but don't like how overpowered it becomes in their games.

Most likely possibility is that fuel is way too easy to come by meaning you can speed through the game almost never leaving your armor.

I really hope Skyrim stealth never returns. That was the pinnacle of BS.

I see somebody hasn't played Oblivion with 100% chameleon =P

It made you literally undetectable, didn't break from any action you took(including attacking), and you could enchant a full set of armour to make it a permanent effect.

People doing stealth need to look more at Thief 2, and see how brilliant that game is at it.

I don't think I felt overmatched very often in FO3 or FONV, even with Hardcore mode. There were a couple of vaults where I ran into trouble in FONV because I'd ventured so far in and had used up my medical supplies, including one time that I just gave up and made a beeline for the exit but still died from radiation before I could get out. Plus, the Legion assassins can be pretty tough if they come after you at low levels.

That's OK with me, though. I usually play games because I like being able to shape a character, interact with NPCs, explore the setting, and be part of an interesting story. That's not to say that I don't enjoy the action too, but having to do the same thing 10 times because I died on the first 9 attempts can get tedious.

You can pick picket active weapons from people in Skyrim. That is why it's the pinnacle of bullshit.

Stealing everyone's weapons and armor is the best thing tho.

You can pretty much take all the weapons and armor from the guards, then start a fight. It's a joke.

The main issue with the Legion assassins is that they automatically know where you are, which makes hiding from them impossible at lower levels when your stealth isn't very high yet.

Even with 100 stealth and a stealth boy active, the game still tells them where you are which is complete BS.

In Oblivion you don't need to steal their active weapons because with 100% chameleon they can't ever see you, meaning that enemies wont ever actually fight back.

It kind of explains my problem with reputation aswell. If i kill two legion soldiers out in the middle of nowhere i get shunned or vilified by the legion. HOW!?!?! No one saw it. Actually i dislike the reputation system deeply, i would rather npc's just recognize you because you solved a quest like this and that.

Noooooo the reputation system was great. It needs a few tweaks of course but it's way better than a Karma system.

Agreed, it doesn't need to go, but it needs some serious tweaking. I don't like the karma system at all.

I like the rep system far more than the karma one, but I think it needed a few tweaks to avoid stuff like this.

On that note it was hilarious in Skyrim that a chicken could be a valid witness, though.

Yeah. As well as random animals in the woods. Also stormcloaks reporting you to the guards of an imperial controlled area.

I have a weird relationship with Skyrim's stealth. I remember sneaking through Falmer caves easily, thinking it was because they were supposed to be blind creatures. Yet, the strategy had the same effect on bandits who used two working eyes.

Most of the time, my character's blade is an occult, hypercharged deathstick that can kill everything with 1-3 hits, without them noticing. On occasion, though, the enemy notices me from any direction and I may as well be wielding a Daedric butterknife.

Also, lol at the witness system.

The problem isn't exactly with a reputation system, but that reputation systems are completely nonsensical. Not just in execution - there you give a great example (no witnesses) - but also often in penalties. For example, TES games use "reputation" to try and punish you from becoming a single walking deathplague that murders all sentients in the sandbox, but there's no real reaction besides a fine and no experience of anything coming close to punishment.

the reputation system didn't bother me. It was nice to be vilified by a group. Its nice to be the center of attention.

Good for me, I bust every legion soldier coming at me and I sell their equipment.
