Yeah, i quite frankly will be ok if they cut the skill system. Give me perks that are more interesting and i actually have to think more about which i am going to choose. And ofc base some on your special stats and some on your level and others on perks already taken. That is just my preference though. Did you notice that in the gameplay bit he climbed into the power armor? Like it is a vehicle? It also had its own hud, i thought that was freaking brilliant!

 

The only thing I hope they don't do is the weapon specialization that Skyrim did. It was annoying to spec into swords only to find an awesome axe 30 minutes later.

 

The whole power armour hud looks awesome, I agree. I always felt it should have something like that.

So does the character customization scene confirm the protaognist's either straight or bisexual?

 

Bioware's got enough nonsense about playersexuality. Bethesda's got too much dignity to get sucked into that trap.

 

Hopefully, they'll just leave it up to the player and have the baby and wife/husband segment at the beginning be unrelated to the players sexuality.

They didn't mention anything about modding. . .

Which leaves me a little curious. Its the only problem I have with a voiced protagonist with a name that people can respond to.

Yeah the way it closed around him was very Iron Man-ish. Seeing that we have jet pack add-ons...well...power armor is definitely a new thing in FO4. Now it's really Power Armor. And perhaps, now worth the weight.

There you go.  ;) Maybe in the next game you can, I can imagine most of my characters getting fat with that habit of eating and drinking almost everything he finds. I'm fine with anything, well maybe not too keen on energy weapons. But those Deathclaw can withstand anything.  :blink:

No mention of a tookit...yet. We know it's coming though. I hope they've added more functionality so we can rely less on third party software.

Something just came to mind. Does the game take place exactly 200 years after the bombs hit? That's the time Fallout 3 is set. Will F4 make references to the ongoing events?

 

It also means the Enclave will probably be around.

 

But probably no Malcolm McDowell. :\

I find myself feeling dedicated to exploring this creation kit more than I did the others, never really did release any of the stuff I worked on. . .Maybe I will with this game, I'm feeling the juices flowing already.

Yeah they should just make categories. Small Guns - Unarmed - Melee weapons - Energy Weapons - Big Guns and then you offer perks in these. Could make for interesting character building.

[Intelligence 6 - Success] The PC would have to be silent but would still make dialogue difficult - writing their dialogue, given that the selection icons when conversing with someone are short bits of fuller sentences the player will say when the option is selected. The player would have to have subtitles on and a dummy sound file to allow them time to read what they've said.

 

Other characters wouldn't be too difficult as they can avoid saying the player's name unless the modder and/or voice actors as part of a mod are dedicated to copy all the pre-programmed names Beth has put in.

I'm calling it now: The settlement building is going to seriously disappoint people.

 

This is not going to be a living, breathing city, folks. It's going to be a tin shack you build that gets attacked by mediocre enemies populated by a few NPCs with generic dialogue that sell doodads.

I can believe the settlement won't be all that either, but I think they've done some things, when put together, could add up to a nice feature. Elements from hearthfire and their AI/NPC system wouldn't be such a bad thing.

I'm more willing to get this at release now with PC VO, but mostly I think it's going to be an interesting experiment. Will it matter? Do people really care, as some here argue they do, whether a Bestheda game has any recognized RPG features so long as it preserves FPS-like mechanics and a theme park style sandbox?

This is where Fat Man or Sniper rifle come in as long as you're far away from the Deathclaws you should be fine. Honestly, for once I'd like to see a fat hero in vault suit or power armor carrying the big gun and roaming the Wasteland. You are welcome, buddy. Sorry about the late response. :P
