May want to mention in OP that Bethesda's pre-E3 press conference is this Sunday, June 14th, at 7:00pm Pacific/10:00pm Eastern.

It's in the description for the Fallout 4 trailer on their YouTube account. :) It's suggested that is where we'll see a gameplay demo.

So anyone got there characters planned yet?

Full out sniper with the focus on stealth and survival, aslong as survival will be meaningful in regards to crafting.

Small Guns focus (gods please bring Big Guns back...for later playthroughs...or side hobby for first playthrough)
Explosives!!!
Repair (they better bring back new Vegas style crafting or I will be...um...not happy)
Pick me every lock there is to pick
Lady Killer
Collect me some junk (everything pretty much not bolted down or on fire  ;))

Edit: oh, and hell to the yeah on a sprint function...(maybe at the cost of APs)

Dat universal repair perk. Delicious.

I only picked lady killer so I could flirt with Cass. Totally worth it!

Also hope for sprint function. Using AP sounds like an good mechanic.

But most of all, I hope for hardcore mode. Who needs an stimpack when you have an gecko steak?

Ya'll know what I want in FO4?

A feline companion. Screw the dog. We already had lots of dogs. I want a blue furred, labgrown Sabertooth cat as companion. If Bethesda can't deliver that, I can settle for a domesticated Death Claw (preferably blue, because why the hell not).

So is it going to be a puma, a cougar, or a moutain lion?

Like I said, I'd prefer a Sabertooth cat. I'd call Don Smiley (get it?).

Might need some help here:

Wanted to post some of the elements of FO4 we know are confirmed, and some of the important items we have yet to confirm. If anyone can chip in, please do. I'll copy/paste what we know now in the original post, and ensure credit is given.

Feel free to add any other things we think we know, but are currently not confirmed.

I'll start out with:

Confirmed:

Location: Boston - Confirmed in Trailer.

FO4 will release only on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. There will be no release for XBOX 360 or PS3 - Confirmed via Bethesda Community Manager Matt Grandstaff on NeoGAF.

Power Armor - Confirmed in Trailer

Energy Weapons - Confirmed in Trailer

Unconfirmed:

PC playable as Male or Female

Weapon Mods

2015 Release Date

Not quite sure what you are looking for or what more we can say is confirmed, but here is what i have noticed.

Voiced protagonist unconfirmed, but seems likely. Dog as an important, maybe essential companion (puppies perk?). Bobblehead seen in trailer (probably returning as a collectible.) Ron Perlman returning to give us an awesome intro (War never changes). Brotherhood of Steel East Coast chapter, unconfirmed. Railroad/Commonwealth factions, unconfirmed.

classic skills for my toon

small guns

repair

medicine

lockpick

I toyed with a BG toon in FO3, and as much as I love the flame thrower and rock-it launcher, they were really hard to keep up

So you ruined Jstatham thread for good!

What about creating a poll about which Fallout Action is the best?

That's a solid build for any FO game. Although, please... you Science the computers in the Fallout world, you don't Hack them!

Exactly what I'm looking for. I'll start compiling later. Thanks!

In the unconfirmed column (Some evidence, but not enough to confirm) (with a little word/idea smithing):

Voiced PC
Dog Companion
Bobbleheads (although seen in the trailer, not confirmed)
Ron Perlman participation (Still unconfirmed rumor that the PC could be the narrator-we'll hold off on that one for now)
BoS East
Railroad/Commonwealth/Institute/"Replicated Man (FO3)" integration into main story

Unknown Column (adding as I go):

Perk and Perk system
Crafting mechanic
Companions
Factioning

Dogmeat dying?

Do you even Broken Steel? That flea-ridden mutt has more health than a Super Mutant Behemoth later in the game. And should the impossible occur, the Puppies! perk will sort it out.

Part of why I always run solo (aside from companions utterly ruining stealth-type gameplay) is because it makes combat boringly easy.

^I played Fallout 2 recently and I found out that dogs are so much more powerful than Sulik or Vic. Capable of running across the screen and gnawing some Enclave patrolman with APA's knees and soaking up plasma rounds like a beast.

Rex in FO:NV was quite tough too. So I doubt the new dogmeat will perform and less.

That said, I hope they make Charisma more useful this time around. Seems weird how Charisma rarely affects any dialogs and the most you get out of it is extra companion damage.

I complained about vanilla F3 Dogmeat's suicidal behavior a lot. Then I remembered that it was an actual achievement keeping him alive through the first game.

I'd like if low Charisma replaced low Intelligence on the hilarious dialogue front.

If the rumors of a voice protag are true... then kiss that idea goodbye.

You let your dog idle in a radioactive crater?
