But man, I'm already storyboarding for a FO4 mod. . .I got the ideas, I've got the world. . .I've got the beginnings of a story. . .a few characters. . .quest ideas. . .I know my way around Skyrim's Kit and the New Vegas G.E.C.K. . .
Never did release anything to the public. . .closest I ever got was a mod that let you play as Bear in Skyrim and set you in the predator faction so people would try to hunt you while went around doing Bear things. . .sadly I couldn't get the race to be selectable at the creation screen without crashing. . .
AHEM- BUT I AM CONFIDENT I WILL ENJOY WORKING ON FO4! ![]()

Oh, there's a few of them floating around there already. Not Fallout 4 per say, but no doubt affected y its reach nonetheless.

No nude mods though!
It is all about the nude mods in Bethesda games now.

Well, even Bioware has them now. And it's on the vanilla game. Time to see how little Shaun was made! ![]()

Honestly, In regards to RP I've found the following to be true:
- Forum RP is great for long-term and can give people time between posts, but the story goes by slow and quality can go down as people leave, join, ETC.
- Game RP allows for events to be set up and joined. The story is concluded yadda yadda. Game problems arise as expected per game.
Never was one for Fallout RP myself, never felt the interest to RP with others in the world.

So am I the only one whose already thinking of RPing my very first toon?

Nude mods in Fallout to me just seemed... I don't know. I feel like I'd be constantly worried about tetanus.

Well the mods will be made on PC with the creation kit, but they can put them out as download on both Xbox One and PS4. It won't happen right away though, some time in 2016. It will probably use the Bethesda.net as a platform for this.
It's interesting to note that Dark0ne (founder and manager of Nexus) has publicly stated he intends to remain a free hobbyist site. Now, how many top tier mod authors like Millenia (Author or Weapon Retuxture Pack and gods know how many custom weapons) will continue to release high quality mods there for free, when console players indulging this new mod thingy start throwing money at them like there's no tomorrow, to get that sleek and badass M-14 or Barrett 98B?
To Millenia's credit he has said that he intends to keep his mods free on Nexus. But it's human nature to gravitate to making money if you have a skill that is in demand. And in all honesty, why shouldn't they? They spend a lot of personal time on a hobby that many enjoy the fruits of, and I just can't begrudge top tier mod authors making a buck or two for the time I know (from personal experience) they put into making our games better and much more replayable.
It just bums me out a little, because I can't see the endstate of this...and with some honest embarrassment have to admit I never liked having my sandbox raked over, that I have been playing so comfortably in for so long. I guess I just liked it better when mod authors were paid in Endorsements, and voluntary payments, rather than compulsory cash. It was the beauty of the community.
The reasonable side of me thinks there will always be free mods, but the quality and level of proficiency of those free mods will likely be several steps down from the top tier. If I want Nevada Skies, World of Pain, Weapon Mods Expanded, or NMCs Texture Pack-level mods for FO4, I'm probably going to have to pay for them.
Ah well, it'll work itself out in the end; and if something really bothers me or I think should be addressed in-game, I do have some reasonable ability to affect it, and will still have no qualms about sharing it with others.
I'm really just going to try to not worry about it and stay focused on the game, and let it all sort itself out.

Man. . .the ideas just keep coming.
. . .My only problem is that I have grand ideas and get a little lazy. . .And I couldn't properly get the extreme details of Papyrus to work well for me. . .and I only have the one voice. . .and I'm feel lazy now but the hype keeps me planning. . . ![]()

Geez, first three characters? I just want my first character's backstory packed down, so I can explore the ends of the Earth with him.

Haha, I see I'm not the only one. My first toon is going to be morally grey and struggling to come to terms with the world. He will try to help people, but if he is in a bad situation like he's broke, no/low ammo and so on he would totally take out a traveling merchant for the supplies.Nah, I've got a basic idea for my first three characters.

Sigh, if only I could join the Enclave and exterminate all those nasty mutants.
Or convince the Enclave and BOS to join forces.

Or take over Boston and become dictator for life.

You can also see that you can insert mods into the parts. Nightvision, flashlights and all that stuff will probably be a thing. A minigun on your shoulder, rockets launching from the gauntlet. Damn it looks amazing. And guess what!? Only 5 months left and we can play it. I wanna thank Bethesda for not showing this game 2 years ago, that would have been a cruel joke.

The real question is that with the Bethesda.net authentication required, will there also be a step to sniff out any mods not distributed through Bethesda? If so, even mods that are free through Bethesda that are installed from the Nexus may trigger the game to not load (without a crack).
That's what I would do, honestly.

Well, unless of course
Spoiler
Really really REALLY hoping this is the case.
Kinda meh. Like, you gotta be some sucker with a wife/husband and baby? No PC of mine would ever get roped into that mess XD
Same. But I'll work with it if I have to. I've worked with worse.
I see, I see. x)
When I saw the announcement trailer, and as soon as the PC speaks, I'm afraid it would come to this. That is one cons of the voiced protagonist. I suppose I'll grow used to it as well, or that the main story and DLC is that awesome it was a blast, it's so good I never even wanted to try new companion/new quest mod. XD
XD
Oh god yeah I cringed at those dialogue choices. The paraphrasing looked worse than Mass Effects but at this point I was all "**** IT. I'M JUST GONNA SHOOT THINGS." then the building settlements came and I was all "I'M GONNA MAKE SETTLEMENTS AND WALK MY DOG AND KICK RAIDER ASS." not the most deep experience but hell it will be satisfying.
