Lmao, Except that House can be super outspoken and at times does in fact act like his opinion is a universal truth. So no, I wasn't patronizing him. I was merely having a conversation with him.

Haha, yea, it's ok. I do have strong opinions myself, but I'm actually pretty chill overall, in the end it's just a game.

how do you explain Codsworth? :P

Good point. I had completely forgotten about it.

Still, Vault Tec would have known the test subject would most likely go to "his" house and placed the robot there.

This is going to really settle just how much people care about silent PCs if you think Skyrim is at all proof of its popularity. I am quite against silent PCs but I bought Skyrim, after all.

So if FO4 sells worse than Skyrim, you'll forever renounce voiced RPG protagonists? Deal!

lol, taking people from before the war and freezing them is way easier than this whole elaborate scam :P also, you still get to see how they react after the apocalypse

G--dam, I am really liking the time dilation in the new VATS. Good to see the world in actually perceptible motion as you make target decisions. It also means, you'll have to be a little quicker in your decision.

The one thing I do hope is fixed from the past, is VATS lag. Once done with the kill animation, we need to be able to click out, so you're not sitting there like a dunce watching your cool slow-mo headshot that just seems to drag on and on, while you're target's buddies are ripping you a new one.

Every so often you could click out, but it was a fairly serious problem overall.

EDIT: I mean, I know it's basically just auto-engage slow-motion but with the video capture software I have now (courtesy of AMD), I see myself piling up a library of video capture kill shots instead of well-timed pic snaps.

So, has anyone else stumbled upon the article or post from the two people who used landmarks within FO4 to figure out just how large the map is?

Funny you say that, I have three fairly close friends who I just saw on Steam playing either FO3 or NV. None of the three had ever played FO before that I know of.

For the past few years, it's just been me...and well...me.

Anecdotal, but I've personally seen a spike.

Brilliant!!!

Man wants to preorder FO4 with thousands of Bottle Caps.

Assuming FO4 keeps the same exchange rate of ten bottle caps per pre-war money, the estimated 2240 bottle caps should be sufficient payment even with comparatively low barter skill.

Let's hope he succeedes the Charisma/Speech check with Bethesda PR.

They'll probably tell him, "Sorry bub, these ain't Nuka or Sunset caps...we do accept pre-war money though. You can head on over to that workbench and turn this into scrap if you want."

I'm still sitting here Creation Kit planning, but I find myself curious:

'How will custom creation work in the kit for faces and weapons?'

For the weapons It'll be simple in my mind's eye: create a weapon ID then select the parts to it, have a switch that labels it as unique or not (thus can or cannot be customized later by the player.). Other stats, yadda yadda.

For the character creator though with the slide and grab creation method. . .how will that work in the kit or will we have to 'SPF' in the console after making faces. . .

I'd make this into a giant PR stunt if I were from Bethesda. That kind of stuff makes for incredible marketing, this right here has the potential to become viral. Giving this guy a Pipboy Edition for his bottle caps and rolling the marketing drums can really only end in favour for Bethesda. Imagine how Imgur and Tumblr would be all over this in an instant.

. . .I have a pile of Sarsaparilla bottle caps I've had sitting around for a couple of years because I'm lazy. . .  *plots evily to self*

Yeah, but then you open the door to people doing that on a wider scale. They need to address it in a way that works as a one-time thing, but also gives them good-guy press.

Yeah... but then what if someone actually kills one?

Faces should work the same in the GECK. There will be a slider type mechanism in the toolkit that the game is hiding with that point and pull mechanic interface. So, I think it will work very similarly.

Weapons are another story. I'm sure you'll be able to edit animations, weapon sounds, and all statistics. But applying weapon mods that actually change the look of the weapon will probably still require NifSkope or some other third party software. NV GECK didn't allow application of mods directly in the tool; you could reserve the space for it, but there was no direct application that I know of.

Now I personally hope they build more capability like this into the FO4 GECK, because I hate using third party to do the things I really want to do; and quite frankly I'm not very good with them. So, me personally, I'm hoping for more enhanced capability.

I don't think there will be inside replacements for the Fallout Edit tool or Script Extender. The new one for FO4 is supposedly in the works (F4SE) (pronounced "PHASE" - I think the team is already leaning forward); but it would be cool if Bethesda would build in more of these capabilities for minor texturing and NifSkope type functions...and they just may, since modding is going to be highly encouraged for the sake of making more money, so a better more functional tool may follow. Time will tell.

So the game allows you to create a husband and wife couple? Awww how sweet, anyone planning to use the creator to create themself and their significant other only to watch their significant other DIE in nuclear fire?

Eh for some reason I doubt that is going to happen, would not be surprised to learn that the significant other survives and locating them becomes the basis for the main storyline, also presents a missed opportunity for a co-op feature not unlike Divinity: Original Sin.

I am almost a 100% sure that your spouse and child will survive. Also you can see in the E3 demo that the intro was rushed forward to get to the vault point. I am actually thinking it will be abit more like the Fallout 3 intro. Atleast 30 minutes before the stuff happens, maybe 45 - 60. If they want you to care about the characters they really have to build for it. I know people won't' like that though.
