I hope they keep it the same but they better no turn it into some line maze game like gta 5 hacking I hate that minigames it more annoying than hard
To be fair, the Fallout 3/NV hacking minigame ends up being more annoying than anything since you can just back out of the terminal at 1 guess left and try again to get an infinite number of attempts.
It will probally have the brotherhood of Steel. Who else uses vertbirds and wears T51-B power armor? Not to mention we aways need someone to teach us how to use power armor. Apart from companions that it. They can use it outright. I guess they are just that smart.
Aren't vertibirds an Enclave thing?

Considering those instances are from the flashback, the answer appears rather obvious as to that being original US Army units. Or are you guys talking about something I've not seen yet?

Atleast in Fallout 3 it is, but if we are up to guessing i would say that BoS takes them in use after attacking the Enclave and seizing their equipment. I am also guessing that the BoS presence in Boston will be Lyons Chapter spreading on the East Coast. Originally they were used even before the great war, and seeing as top tier Enclave officers had roots in the American Army and Goverment i would say it has been them all along. Correct me if i am wrong, not well versed in the Fallout lore.

The Enclave was sort of a shadow government/military-industrial complex/Men in Black organization. Bob Page from Deus Ex would have fit in fine with them. So in a sense, yeah, they had close connections with the Government.
The Brotherhood of Steel also has connections to the U. S. military though. It was founded by the soldiers of the Mariposa Military Base and their families who deserted after discovering the human experimentation going on with the Forced Evolutionary Virus. The current Brotherhood are their decendants

I'm curious about the Enclave/Vault Tec Corporation , from what I've gathered they worked together at some point .
I didn't get much info about the Enclave in FO NV , I mean Arcane Gannon and the grandpas/grandma were pretty cool and Arcane is a really nice guy.
But it seems the Enclave is evil or something?

And the New Vegas computers take longer to load up after you exit.

Vault-Tec was run behind the scenes by the Enclave. They saw the war coming long before it happened, and had their own plans to survive it. The problem was, there was the possibility that Earth would be rendered uninhabitable by nuclear war. So they had a contingency plan to build a generation ship to colonize another world. The Vaults were designed to study the effects of communities living in close quarters, and how various stressors can affect them. To that effect, aside from a few "control" vaults, they all had various projects or defects within them. One vault's main door would not close properly, causing a radiation leak. Another was populated only with children. One had a rule where all disputes must be settled by games of chance. And so on.
So you see, the vaults were never actually designed to save humanity. Just study it. And as it turned out, the world wasn't destroyed anyway.
By the time of Fallout: New Vegas, the Enclave has pretty much been destroyed, first by the Chosen One in Fallout 2 (set about 40 years before Fallout New Vegas), and then by the Lone Wanderer in Fallout 3 (set four years before F:NV).
Apparently the FO4 trailer didn't impress everyone, especially a certain Director of our site host. Did anyone else hear this?

Ouch Alistair.

Meh, I don't really care one way or another for the trailer itself, but rather what the trailer means (and that's "Hey folks, Fallout 4 is in development and close to release").
I don't understand the trailer, the bombs fall and he leaves the fault? Doesn't it take decades until the landscape is safe enough to not die from radiation?
its been around 250 odd years.

Inquisition reveal trailer had little more then 2 million views after one year.
In two weeks Fallout trailer had over 13 million.
We can guess who is more popular right? Alistair, your jealously is showing.

Bethesda wears the big boy pants at the RPG table, that's a given. They are going to automatically generate more buzz and more sales.
And do you want to guess how? They have developed a formula that they have refined over the past two decades. Not reinvented that formula with every title.

Not sure I am seeing the refinement but there is no denying that the formula is popular, it honestly doesn't matter how bad the game is it is still going to sell like hotcakes.

I have alot of respect for Bethesda for exactly that. They take their time, and make what they want to make. I was abit worried it would change after Skyrim's success, but after the Fallout 4 trailer i just got that feeling again. I am aware that not everyone likes their way of doing things and i understand that, but gotta have respect for a company that operates the way they do. Beeing so successful and still making games with the same passion and attention to detail is impressive.
So close to E3 now! I am psyched!

To be honest I'm still a bit worried. Skyrim cut a lot of stuff out that ended up feeling like they were trying to appeal to a wider audience.
The magic system was severely cut down from what it was in Oblivion/Morrowind and ultimately feels very underwhelming without mods.
Being that they're extremely bad at balance, I also hope that my preferred stealth/sniper playstyle isn't overpowered as that makes the game boring for me. Being able to 1 shot Elder Dragons because of hilariously broken sneak attack modifiers was only amusing the first few times.

Is that why things were cut? The attributes perhaps but I am pretty sure things like spellcrafting were removed either because they could not get them working with the new systems or allowed the player to do things the devs for some reason did not want them to do or they were dubbed "superfluous" and left out of the game because the developers did want to devote resources to developing them for the new game.
To be honest the amount of things added with each new Bethesda title seems to be dwarfed by the amount of things they take away and it doesn't always end up being for the best either. Leaves me wondering what "superfluous" features will be removed from Fallout 4.
