Thing is Beth can write some pretty good things when they want to.
Like Shivering Isle
And the DB quests.
But then they just don't.
All of the stuff I liked about the DB quests was the unwritten elements.. Just the experience of walking to the Greybeards.. the journey up the mountain. All the crap you ran into along the way. The unpredictability and things that sidetrack you in an open world.
But this is what I mean when saying the environment is the best character.

Sadly does not work for me, environment is really nice but that can't be all there is for me. Tis a big reason I prefer NV.

It's there too. Right after leaving the first town. There's all kinds of possible/small adventures before you even reach the main quest destination.

Building hideouts, customizable weapons AND power armor WITH animations?
Yeah, that is a day 1 sell for me.
In fact, if I find someplace they are selling it at midnight, I'll show with 60 or so bottlecaps in a bag.
I wonder if it would be too late for Bethesda to sell a 60-pack of some specialty soda, with each bottle cap being a valid coupon for the game.

The Pitt had amazing scenary and atmosphere. While the story has potential, it suffered due to being so short.
Spending more time as a slave, actually doing some missions as a raider where you are faced with the choice of not acting like one which would earn suspicion or commiting despicable deeds, combine that with a mechanic where the most suspicious they are, the more time it takes to meet Ashur and the more time you spend in the Pitt, the sicker you get, add some more interactions with both factions and it would have been amazing.

I'm surprised some executive at Coca-Cola, who's a total gaming nerd, hasn't pitched some sort of collaborative publicity stunt with Bethesda and actually developed a Nuka-type Cola with it's own flavor and bottles, with bottle caps that are either collectibles or redeemable for...something.
"Be RAD drink Nuka by Coke...." or some such $#!+.

I'm trying to figure out where main quest got confused with DB. Dragonborn?I was talking about Dark Brotherhood quests.
DB is always the highlight of TES games, though.

Step 1: Make Nuka-Cola with multiple product lines such as Victory, Quartz, and Quantum.
Step 2: Offer Fallout related gear or copies of Fallout 4 as prizes under the cap as a limited contest leading up to Fallout 4's launch
Step 3: Sleep on top of a pile of money

DB and Thieves Guild In Skyrim was insanely well done. Also they lasted as long or longer than the main-quest, which i think was Skyrim's strength. It had more than one main quest, sort of. While i find Oblivion to be more urgent and better written, i didn't like the side stuff that much in the game.

I had interesting NPCs , a Skyrim mod , it added quests and companions.
The mod had a flew flaws (NPCs were sometimes too chatty ) but there were some really really great quests.
The main mod for Skyrim got also updated on a regular basis for like 3 years now.
This modder is already working on Fallout 4 .He created two companions you could test in Fallout NV.
Also some companions for Fallout 3 , but I haven't tested them.
I'm keeping an eye on his work for Fallout 4 .

Yeah I think streetmagic confused it with Skyrim's main quest.
Which was OKAY.
Nothing really mindblowing.
But fine for what it wanted to do.
And yeah, Dark Bro quests are great. There are always cool personalities inside.
Always felt bad killing everybody in the DB sanctuary in Oblivion.

Dark Brotherhood? The quest itself was alright, but there were absolutely no repercussions in-game for killing the god damn Emperor of Tamriel.
I later joined the Imperials, despite the fact, that every damn guard seemed to know, that Dark Brotherhood killed the emperor, and that I'm part of the organization.
And the fact, that guild missions were longer and more interesting that main quest signified, that main quest sucked, not that it was "Skyrim's strenght".
But I agree, that Thieves Guild was well done.

There is so much obvious cut content in NV. It's kinda depressing to see. The legion in particular seems to have had the most cut.
I still really wish the option to make House into the NCR Senator of New Vegas could have made it in the game.

I approve of anything to do with House being added. My canon courier sided with him because I felt that he would do the best job with New Vegas and he had experience with handling it, such a smart man.

I quite liked the debating with the stormcloaks and empire mission though the whole giving up entire city's thing was ****** hilarious.

Skyrim in general was just really bad at world reactivity.
It's something I hope they work on improving for Fallout 4.

Funny thing, I've gone through Skyrim's main quest 3 or 4 times and the last time I played it was the first time I had ever done the meeting (I wasn't even aware of it).

I killed Mr House .I felt bad , I didn't hate the guy ...but clearly my courier and him had different agenda.
His New Vegas was an awful cesspool , the great famillies of Vegas ![]()
The Omertas having a serial killer butchering their prostitutes + they were psychos.
The familly who were cannibals .
Benny's tribe were kind of alright , if they could just stop calling you "Baby" every five seconds.
Mr House was just out of touch , a guy with a vision sure , but I doubt he cared much about people .

I don't think he did either, but I also felt that the Legion and NCR didn't. They both just wanted to expand, at least House had saved New Vegas from complete destruction and had been keeping order. Sure, the courier could have took over, but what about after they died? Anarky.
At least you were kind and killed him, instead of letting him sit out of his machine XD

Yeah i felt like the Dragonborn DLC was just gonna be a fanservice with the return to Solsteim, but it was really well done. Probably my favourite Elder Scrolls expansion. I like Dawnguard aswell, but mainly because i actually like Serana and she is voiced by Laura Bailey, which is just awesome. But that is just me fanboying all over that.
Overall most of the DLC and Expansions Bethesda has done that had story has been good, so i can't see a reason why it would be bad for Fallout 4.

Serana was awesome. One of the only good companions in the game.
