Yeah i felt like the Dragonborn DLC was just gonna be a fanservice with the return to Solsteim, but it was really well done. Probably my favourite Elder Scrolls expansion. I like Dawnguard aswell, but mainly because i actually like Serana and she is voiced by Laura Bailey, which is just awesome. But that is just me fanboying all over that.

Overall most of the DLC and Expansions Bethesda has done that had story has been good, so i can't see a reason why it would be bad for Fallout 4.

Because Bethesda has a habit of failing at the main story of the game.

I don't think he did either, but I also felt that the Legion and NCR didn't. They both just wanted to expand, at least House had saved New Vegas from complete destruction and had been keeping order. Sure, the courier could have took over, but what about after they died? Anarky.

At least you were kind and killed him, instead of letting him sit out of his machine XD

Yeah he saved Vegas , I don't see him as evil ...just like Vegas was like one of his snowglobe I guess .Dude probably looked at the town once in a while , saw the casinos still standing and pat himself on the shoulder.

I didn't care for the Legion or NCR , there were lots of small tribes with potential and it wasn't total anarchy. The Followers of the Apocalypse , The Kings , the Great Khans .

Goodspring didn't have the Legion , NCR or House looking after them , and those people weren't turning into the fiends.

I wish they would just get rid of the thing throw you into the world with a short cutscene and then go nuts with the side quests.

Well Morrowind and Oblivion was pretty good. So that is half their products right there. I could say the same of Bioware.

Well the prisoner aspect in Elder Scrolls is more about you just beeing there because the scroll foretold it so. The destiny angle, which i always did like. But in Skyrim it is poorly done. I rather liked the intro to Fallout 3, it wasn't to long and not to short either. It didn't feel like a drag, but at the same time provided enough backstory for me to care. But then again i like the family aspect.

To be fair to the NCR, the president doesn't care, and likely most of the senate, but there are atleast some Citizens, Soldiers, and Officials who care about the people in the Mojave. One of the Ideals of the NCR is to help people, and there's still got to be a lot of people who share Tandi's beliefs. The NCR might want more territory, but they also want to help.

That being said, I realize that a lot of the people of the NCR want nothing to do with the Mojave, and almost rightfully so. After the NCR annexes the Mojave, they really need to stop expanding, and focus on their own Infrastructure, starting with taking care of the impending famine, and by buckling down their security and protection of their towns and cities. After that, a reconciliation with the Followers will do them some good. The NCR, while having some pretty advanced technology (likely from Vault City joining the NCR), are too widespread to make any damn use of it, and the Followers could help with their advancement in Medicine while the OSI focuses on getting more factories operational, and hopefully some military advancements such as building robots, or Power Armor to aid in the defense of settlements, and help in the patrols. Hell, just them being able to find a way to replace the more perishable aspects of cars would be a great boon to the Economy alone.

i should probably stop here, since I'm starting to diverge from my original point, but yeah. Some people in the NCR do care for the Mojave, but the leaders don't, Which is more than one can say for the other factions.

The opening of Bethesda games are always cool. It's after that where it falls apart.

Skyrim was the first one I actually felt like playing a lot of the quests through. Kept me entertained. Most of the time I just treat it like GTA.

I think Bethesda has a problem with wanting to tell a story and at the same time make a huge open world where the player can roam as they want not be tied down by a story. They have to decide abit more, which they have done with Fallout 4. Still using the same approach to open world, but trying to make the story abit more engaging. If they are using the right tools that is up to us to debate, but now it is in play.

. . .I killed House for no reason. I literally had none. At all.

I don't know who I'll support on this upcoming playthrough, I've just been broing it up with all the various groups.

The thing about Bethesda is their main stories are...serviceable. They work for the environments and design philosophy they've adopted over time; to make the player the center of the game world and create backdrops for extraordinarily interesting sandboxes to do whatever the hell you want to do. They rarely fail in meeting that part of fan expectations for what they want in a FO or ES game. For good or for ill.

I suppose I don't have real issues with Bethesda storylines, as I already know what I'm going to get, and to me, story is secondary over the real main character of their games. Would I like for them to be better? Absolutely. But, I have to say, I think they have been showing a positive learning curve over the last several games, unlike many other developers. I think this whole voiced PC thing could be a step in the right direction for them (and yet another indication of their willingness to learn, as long as it doesn't get in the way of itself, or the real reason (as I perceive it anyway) people buy Bethesda games.

In my view, if they DO ever figure out dialogue, story, and companions, and most importantly, find a way to integrate that (seamlessly or semi-seamlessly) into their games, no one will be able to compete with them.

I accidentally killed him. After meeting him for the first time, I just started hacking the computers I found in the penthouse. Sprinted past the guard bots and then hacked the computer that lets you take him out of his lifepod thing.

I just wanted to see what he looked like. :\

Ended up abandoning the game there because I felt like I ruined it without giving proper thought, lol. Really need to go back and give it a proper go. Soon.

In any case, really looking forward to F4. I love what I've seen thus far for the most part. The part I'm most leery about is the voiced protagonist. We'll see how that goes.

That's why I think they should abandon the entire main story thing in their game, divide their world into factions and have the main story become a dynamic reactivity towards your actions in-game.

Essentially a Mount and Blade game on a far more personal level.

Yes this. I would also love it if there were a few events that happened regardless of your input. I wish the war in civil war and it's effects on Skyrim was handled better.

Yeah, the Civil War was a really cool idea.

But poorly handled.

See, like I said.

Good potential.

Bad execution.

That Stormcloak fellow also had the potential to be an amazing character. And apparently they did some cool stuff behind the scenes.

But they did nothing with him.

Great Voice Actor tho'

I will say that the storming of whiterun was handled well. It's probably the only takeover that has a genuine noticeable effect with it destroying certain buildings and can change up the main quest it certain areas. It's just too bad the rest weren't handled as well. Hell even taking solitude for the stormcloaks is disappointing with the Jarl remaining the same.

STOP KILLING HOUSE

Daggerfall and Morrowind where good, but Oblivion and on has had the same pattern, horrible main story, good dlc and side quests.

I killed House because I felt he was an poor leader for the Mojave. He was too out of touch from everything. Hell, he is pretty much a corpse at this point. At least NCR tries diplomacy if it works. House just stomps anyone that gets in the way without a care. He reminds me of the Enclave.

I ultimately went for Independant Vegas. The Legion are a bunch of stupid savages. I almost nuked them in Lonesome road. Sometimes I wonder if I should have just burned them. While the NCR pretty much lost my respect after Tandi died. They became weak and incompetent. They spread too thin and should just stick to their territory.

I always struggle between House and Wildcard. Legion had potential but was well as I mentioned earlier a lot seemed to have been cut out from them.

Morrowind's story was a giant fetch quest...
