You don't really take over New Vegas so much as you remove all authority, which imo, is pretty stupid. Still better than NCR or Legion, though. And Yes Man is the one running everything, he just answers to you.

I'm only OK with being the dragon to the titular big bad or another notable character who doesn't answer to anyone else. If I'm going to be the third banana I might as well knock down the house of cards.

Well, when I say becoming the dragon to someone else's Dragon, I mean like becoming the Boba Fett to Darth Vader.

I prefer to just leave it to the NCR. Yes it is a very broken system, but it has good soldiers that care about their original values and do the best they can to enforce it. Me and Cass will just ride into the sunset together. Never to be seen again.

Nah. You ride off into the sunset alone, and Cass has a good time with one of those good soldiers. Then the NCR collapses after a few years, while everyone blames you.

You can't be happy in an Obsidian game just like you can't exist in a Bethesda one.

Did you know about the bonus they got screwed out of? They and Bethesda made a deal that if Obsidian met a certain score (85%) on Metacritic then they'd get a bonus, Obsidian was off by a single point.

Source: http://www.engadget....s-by-one-point/

Proof metacritic is broke worse than fu*kin speekers.

thats the thing with the SJW gane reviewers these days dropping scores due to them dislikeing 1 thing. Cass is a drunk and Alcoholism hurts Wumin. -10 points. man id have loved a GoTY with bonus quests and added content. but palms wernt greased right i suppose.

I dread Fallout 4 with the eyerolling crying over the sequined dress being "transphobic."

I get what you mean, I just think Bobba is a bit of a third banana. The Vader role? Totally for me. Bobba? Meh. I'd rather wreck the playground.

That's why it's all about the selfish hedonism, and hence House.

I much rather deceive them all and take over. Independent New Vegas for life!

I favor independent Vegas as well. Yes Man upgrades himself so he only answers to the Courier, you can shape the Mojave to suit your vision, and your can mention to Oliver how you've thought about how you'll lead the Mojave as an autonomous state. You also get to toss him off Hoover Dam while sipping your canteen.

Yeah that's the one thing that holds me back from going for that ending.  The Protectrons may last a while, but there's no way to replace them withtout Mr House.

When the NCR eventually returns, or the Legion, or something even worse comes along, who's gonna protect New Vegas then? The Kings?  The Boomers?  Primm Slim?

Ha, totally happened with me the first time!

I think people understimate the upgraded securitrons. They are pretty much the equivalent of an soldier with power armor. And considering the absurd amount of them under Ceasar's tent, they could be used to patrol all of the Mojave territory.

New Vegas is pretty diverse, and can appeal to people for so many different reasons, from strong writing to multiple roleplay possibilities. Considering the Courier can be straight or gay, I think it satisfied a myriad of fans. Strong women and gay characters were also present; Arcade, Veronica, and Cass were great characters who were well-written and fleshed out.

The fact that Cass is Cassidy's daughter makes her awesome all by itself.

True; the upgraded Securitrons seem to be very proficient (with combat effectiveness improved by 235%) and they even have an auto-repair system. There's also the tech from Big MT you can share with the rest of human civilization, some of which could be beneficial to the Courier who wants to maintain the sovereignty of the Mojave.

I thought Cass was short for Cassidy, Sharon "Whiskey Rose" Cassidy or something like that....

Yes, but her father was John Cassidy from Fallout 2.  She talks about him in some of her dialogue.

She also has some of his traits.  She's a heavy drinker like he is, favors the shotgun, and has a heart problem (though not as bad as he did)

It is. She is the daughter of John Cassidy from Fallout 2. Her full name is Rose of Sharyn Cassidy, isn't it?

Wow, what? I don't remember to ever hear Cass saying she haves an heart condition. When does she says that?

I'll admit it was the icing on the cake getting her as a companion in FO:NV. John Cassidy in FO2 was awesome.

I remember her mentioning it when you are under the effect of chems atleast.I am not a 100% sure if it is in any other conversation.

It's during her dialogue when you ask her about herself.  It's clearly not as bad as her father's who'd die if you gave him buffout or Jet.

Also, her personal quest is even called "Heartache by the Number" and the perk she gets from the peaceful resolution is "Calm Heart"  ;)
