I doubt the Enclave are going to be in Fallout 4...

If somehow they are, I want to be able to side with them.

Well, as opposed to nearly every other main character in the FO series, someone who truly was raised in pre-war society and isn't "tainted" by generations and centuries of radiation actually COULD be a viable person for the Enclave to want. Otherwise, their pure-blood focus seems unlikely to allow anyone not raised in their "clean" society to infect anyone else.

Thanks for catching that. Yes, I did. I know some at Obsidian said they could deal with the west coast while Bethesda focused on the east coast, so that might be the case for the Fallout franchise.

I'd be totally fine with that. I have hope that Bethesda won't derp the East Coast again and will actually make a good extension of the franchise. And if New Vegas is any indicator, Obsidian can do excellent expansion of their previously developed lore.

Fast Jimmy will allow it.

True, even more so than a vault dweller, and they were pretty wanted by the Enclave, as they tried to make contact with vault 101's population in FO3.

I want the Enclave to return in full glory and I want to be able to side with them. I don't want the, "You have to side with the rag tag good guys and save the day and defeat the most threatening evil to the wasteland!" I want to actually, like in New Vegas choose a faction to side with and work with them. And I want a proper ending, because New Vegas had a disappointing ending. It seemed like everything you done didn't matter since it was all in a slide show. I want to live with my choices. If I helped the Enclave and purged all the wastelanders, I want to see the results and feel their effects.

I could see a few remnants of the Enclave around, like the ones we met in New Vegas, rather than an outright faction. I have a feeling Fallout 4 will focus on the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel as a potential antagonist, as a move away from Lyons' Brotherhood. I wonder how this incarnation of the Brotherhood will be - similar to the original Brotherhood out west, or something different altogether.

I'm guessing it'd be closer to Lyons'. This is Boston afterall. Just a drive away from Maryland.

I liked the NV slideshow... but I've always been a fan of epilogue slides. The resources just aren't there to do a "show, not tell" nearly as well providing text and a picture that are wildly variant depending on choices. If anything, not being able to reflect how the world really holds up after the ending decision may make them repeat Fallout 3's choice of "the game is over when you beat the main quest, no matter what" approach.

Even if the resources were there, it would be a waste to use them on the ending alone, which few players see. But I prefer in-game reactivity ala TW2.

Hopefully the ruins of Boston are all open.

DC had some amazing scenery but it got annoying having to travel everywhere through tunnels. They look menacing and would be fine as alternative routes but they can grow tiresome after a while.

Of course, that might lead to the city feeling very small.

This is true. The tunnels, and to some extent, the vaults, made F3 a bit of a drag sometimes. NV was better in this regard, I think. But F3 was better at making the world look messed up.

Well, that's certainly because New Vegas was actually less messed up.

Go look at the Divide. That place is messed up.

If the Brotherhood turns out to be part of Lyons' division (perhaps as a result of their success against the Enclave in the DC ruins and at Adams Air Force Base), I could see them expanding elsewhere.

If it's the Midwestern Brotherhood, I think they would be different, since they already explored an inclusive splinter faction with Lyons' division. If they have a different ideology than Lyons' faction, I could see the two BoS groups having a conflict with one another.

There's also the question of how the Institute and the Railroad will factor into the equation, and how their advanced technology could peak the interest of the BoS.

Oh that would be cool for the two main enemy factions, the tech-hoarding MBoS, or the android slave labor of the Institute, with the Railroad being a bit of a pain the backside for the Institute, while also still being a target of the MBoS.

Maybe both factions will bump into each other, and we can side with one group or the other (or turn on them both?)

Maybe we'll finally find out what Lyons found at The Pitt.  And maybe the Midwesterners want it?

They have a chapter in the Midwest still going strong, but that said...

If the Midwest Brotherhood are moving to Boston, it's possible that the Enclave might follow. Maybe something is chasing them away from/out of the Midwest?

There's really not much left of the Enclave.  After Fallout 3, I doubt they could threaten Little Lamplight anymore, let alone the Institute

I bet that they regrouped in Chicago: http://fallout.wikia...Enclave#Chicago

Honestly, I want Fallout 5 to be set in the Midwest (largely Chicago), so that we can finish off the Enclave and contend with the Midwest BoS if we don't in this game. The setting could be awesome too.

I would like to see that. Seeing as Lyons was supposed to make contact with them, might be his final act as Elder with Sarah in the running to take over. I really want some small cameos from FO3, but that is just me. So a full-scale war or just a tense situation between Lyons chapter and the Midwest Chapter would be great. Alot of potential to the storyline atleast, lets see if they can deliver.

Wonder how the Minutemen are going to factor in? Side faction maybe? Help Preston re-build them from the five they've been whittled down to?

Well, we've seen Brotherhood of Steel members attacked in the trailer by the main character, and the Commonwealth Minutemen. I'd guess the Institute and the Railroad could be factions, given what we learned in Fallout 3.

Chicago sounds cool. I'd like to fight 1000 super mutants in Wrigley Field.

Or Fenway in this game.

Or you could just visit Detroit and get a real life Fallout game in the midwest.

True. So BoS(possibly Lyons chapter and Midwest), Super Mutants (faction?) Commonwealth Minutement, Railroad, The Institute.
