I'm curious as to whether the Minutemen are aligned with the Institute or are they Boston's version of the Peace Keepers? Either way, they sure do have some snazzy looking outfits. I'm keen on getting one of their colonial swashbuckling outfits for my vault dweller.bjCoIN1.jpg
I just checked the wiki, it seems there a mercenary company for hire?

First things I'm gonna do when I meet them is jack all their clothes :P

Yup. but to be honest ive been a Johnny Cash fan since i was a kid.
and yeah the Bethesda forum is as bad as this one.
i had a argumend with a feminist telling every one they need to take gender studies course if they want to play a Female ect.

I would say that the Bethsoft forum is worse, much worse imo. I can't even have a simple discussion there without some og Fallout fan putting me down.

Honestly, I think they will be similar to the Peacekeepers. Their home base is the Museum of Freedom and they obviously consider the Revolutionary war an event of great importance.

That's what I think as well. If they are a mercenary faction, they're not Talon Company, probably more like Reilly's Rangers.

I loved chilling with the Rangers & the Peacekeepers. I remember one time I waited to do the Ranger quest and focused on completing Broken Steel, **** that was a bad idea. Had to fight through hordes of Supermutant overlords while trying to protect them.

They were also armed with the Tri-Beam Laser Rifle.

That bad huh? Does the fighting spread through countless of pages of pointless drivel?

Well the moderators there are active atleast, so they shut down stuff quickly, but people just open new threads and the crap goes on. Also they are like really lore intenstive, starting huge fights over small things. Like a spell that was in Morrowind and not Skyrim had like a 10 page discussion, name calling, lore bitching etc.

Yes, all the time. It's turned into old fans vs new fans.

Reilly's Rangers.... for life.

Hell Yeah!

Unless you actually worked for Black Isle back in the 90's, you are scum. Clearly.

I do miss that spell, you could troll those poor melee focused bandits with it lol.

I come for the friendly Fallout discussion, but I stay for the funny Jimmy comments and jokes. :)

Well, I appreciate that.

I figure, hey... I'm cursed to be bound to these boards for all stretch of eternity until the era when the sun is extinguished in the sea... why not crack a joke now and then?

One of my favorite missions in DC...and the one set of armor I absolutely have to have in the game (along with the Talon company commander's combat helmet--the black one [Commander Jabsco]). But yeah, Reilly's mission expands geometrically in difficulty the longer you put it off. It's pretty much like swimming in a sea of leveled super mutants. I guess if you wait until Broken Steel to do it though, at least you can carry Fawkes along and then tell those Overlords: NOW would be a good time for them to call for back up. ;)

Yeah, FO3 pissed me off. It leads you to believe you will join the Enclave, but then they get wiped out. Broken Steel made things even worse. Apparently Bethesda doesn't understand some people like the Enclave and want to join their ranks like you can with the BoS.

In what way did Fallout 3 ever lead you to believe that you could join the Enclave? Literally since their introduction they've been nothing but morally bankrupt villains who go out of their way to murder anyone who doesn't fit their genetic mold (i.e. 99% of the population) and pillage their tech. They are effectively N**is dressed up as the former American government. I truly do not see what people admire in them. It's like the people who actively go and work for the Legion.

Because sometimes I like to play as the bad guys. Last I checked it was a RPG, but by all means go ahead and lecture me about a ****ing game.

I wasn't actually lecturing anybody on anything, but whenever I mention that the Enclave are simple and 1-dimensional villains, their fans get really defensive like I insulted their families. I don't care what faction you like or don't like, I never gave my opinion on your stance, I just asked how people can like them. Calm down.

You still haven't told me what gave you the impression that you could ever join the Enclave.

A lot of action, a lot of Super Mutants and a bunch of ragtag mercenaries that you have to rescue. Definitely one of my favorite quests in the game.

Well in Fallout 2 you couldn't join the Enclave.
