Do you think they have learned from the past mistakes?
Like Bioware, I don't think Bestheda is capable of fixing their biggest flaws.

Because they don't have interest in that - representing a damage intake on their plans - or because they are incompetent and lazy?
My opinion is that they're capable, but they're more comfortable working less hard with more profit in their wallets, than working harder to do more profit.

Just give me some UnderRail and AoD.
Beth/Toddler can just f**k right off with their bastardized Fallout games.

I would like to see the inclusion of multiple high level "dead zones", similar to New Vegas. OTOH, there's Dead Wind Cavern, Quarry Junction, Silverpeak Mines, and of course the legendary Deathclaw Promontory. Lonesome Road and Dead Money are also pretty hardcore. The mod A World of Pain adds even more.
Fallout 3 had Deathclaw Sanctuary and thats pretty much it. And deathclaws in FO3 are neutered to hell. Give us some challenge for once, Bethesda.

I am hoping they can get rid of the Godlike character stuff. In most Bethesda games you just became way to powerful.

Courier's Mile in Lonesome Road was riddiculous.
Stealth was pretty much the only was to cross it.

I would never say developers are lazy. The demands of this business... to be honest, I don't understand why people who have options to pursue different careers (e.g. in software) wouldn't just go elsewhere, even with a passion for gaming.
I don't think Bestheda has the talent to successfully transcend their flaws, by which I mean I don't think as currently comprised they have the writers or designers to avoid their story-related and RPG-character development related issues. With Bioware, I don't think they have the development talent to overcome their inability to design a sensible combat ruleset (or system) and to design good, rich quests.

Yeah, the word lazy gets thrown around way too much. I know what the hell lazy is, I'm lazy. Lazy people don't bust their @ss working fifteen straight hours.I would never say developers are lazy. As a console peasant I would happily pay cash for Mod support on the PS4.
And that might be half the issue...Console players who are used to flashy advertising on XBLive and PSN, who are used to paying for everything, are the ticket to allow Beth, etc to think they can do this. PC players who have been using and developing these mods of decades, and have developed their own communities and sites to do such, hobbyists all, for FREE; not so much. Funny thing is the PC hobbyists will probably have the most to say about it verbally, but the least to say about it financially.
Guess who wins?

Also, I'm not a bird. Shiny objects & flashy advertising doesn't work on me.

Of course you CAN go guns blazing, but man is it violent...and will you ever take a beating. I personally think Satchel charges and Auto-Injects were introduced in LR to get you (well, knuckleheads like me at least) through Courier's Mile. It's probably the most violent and overwhelming environment of any game I've ever played.
Honestly I can't remember how many Auto-Inject Stimpacks and Rad-Aways I went through, but I looted every single container, every Marked Man and Deathclaw carcass, and drug everything out that wasn't nailed down.
The only thing that even approaches Courier's Mile (but the danger can easily be mitigated) is the Long 15 and Dry Wells if you decide to nuke either the Legion or NCR. Approach the craters in each area and you will literally be dead in 4 seconds.

I know. My comments were definitely not intended to be personal; but more of a commentary in the macro. Hey, I have an Xbone as well...and truth be told, I enjoy the shiite out of it in most games' MP modes.

Bethesda has a sunday conference for some weird reason. So they are starting it off a day before the others. Will be at 4 AM here in Norway though, so have to stay up that night. The rest are on the 15th and 16th.

Watched the trailer for the first time yesterday.
Slightly dissappointed that they might not be pushing the style forward much...we still see Mr Handys, Protectrons, Brotherhood Armor, Brahmin, Dogmeat, Vault Suits...would have liked to see a tad more innnovation there. Also, I hope the 'pre-war' footage is just part of a prologue or something...I don't want to play that for extended periods.
The style looks promising, though. Glad to see they're decided to ditch the eternal nuclear wasteland for something more colorful. And while the graphics aren't the most jaw dropping I've seen, it does look solid.
The music sounds great. Sort of a triumphant reprisal of music from Fallout 3. If we have a voiced character, I can already tell from that tiny snippet he's got a great voice. Plus obvious imagery of a heroic protagonist. Always bloody good to see and hear.

Thanks. Corrected it. I pasted from the OP and not the site. Good to go now.
