Love how powerarmor is now a major asset. as opposed to a +1 strength with a 20 lbs sooo i just toss it on Veronica.. and runn about in Jacobs stuff. it makes the BoS BOSSES for haveing the stuff.

No? All we know is that there will be DLC(?). I am hoping they follow the Skyrim DLC pattern instead of FO3. I rather like the small expansions that offer more content. Calling dog armor DLC!

Is it save to say that there will be a hardcore mode like in New Vegas?

Unknown at this point, but i don't see any reason why they would keep it out of the game. If it isn't added there will be a mod for it somewhere down the line.

I think they'll probably do the Broken Steel, Pitt, Zeta thing for FO4...but I'm really hoping for a Dead Money, OWB, Lonesome Road type of deal, where the DLCs tell their own side story.
Hey, if they have hired Avellone, we'll probably get the latter, and we're virtually guaranteed they'll be damn good.
You know, now that I think about all this, and now that aliens are canon, we're probably in for some alien shenanigans as well.

Also, just did some quick Fallout Wiki searching and found out that Chris Avellone went to William and Mary...with Todd Howard. Hmmmm. Can't see him leaving Obsidian for a smaller company that makes the same sort of game (InExile). I think he's more likely to move toward something big. Just saying.
He would be a nice addition to the writing team at Bethesda Game studios. Could probably write alot of amazing stuff for TES aswell. I don't have high hopes though.

Me neither, but it's a neat thought.

So do I, I'm still waiting excitedly for the time when I can buy Dead Money, Lonesome Road and Honest Hearts since I'm still missing those but haven't had the money at the right time to purchase 'em.

I'm kind of hoping they'll release the list of names that were recorded so I have time to decide if I want one of 'em or if the one I'm thinking of is on the list already. C'mon Clementine.

Well, their philosophy for DLCs for each franchise is (or, at least, has been) a bit different. They had 4 and 5 story/world map DLCs for New Vegas and FO3. They had two huge story based DLCs for Oblivion and Skyrim. They had the smaller packs for New Vegas (too many if you ask me) and Skyrim...and we'll just try to forget about that whole Horse Armor thing.

If they do a Shivering Isles type thing that would be good. For me SI and OWB stand out ahead of the rest.
One thing I hope they don't do it try to make an official DLC out of a popular mod. Hearthfire did not work very well for them in my opinion. Just stick to the story based DLCs.
I'm hoping they have hired Avellone though, since I found NV + DLC writing much better overall compared to FO3 + DLC. The Pitt was really the only one I liked story wise, and it was way too short.

How big of a role do you think the husband/wife and baby will play in the main storyline? If they somehow survive, could they be other survivors from vault 111?
I think that atleast the child will be a huge part of the story and i think both will make it down into the vault with you. After all it seems like you sign up your entire family for the Vault, if you get down then why would you leave them? I don't see any reason they will get seperated. What happens down in 111 however is something else entirely. Since we are assuming it is some sort of cryogenic freezing/statis or whatever, maybe your family wakes up before you or someone invades the vault at one point or another and take them. Many possibilities anyway.

That's most likely it. The protagonist doesn't have any driving motivation apart from their family. The main plot needs to start somewere.

You could say it is the protagonist's "Prime Directive" they are hard coded with...

okay as much as i would love to play an android heres the reason why the protagonist wont be one - Bethesda likes catering to the masses, and the masses want to be human ![]()
there is one thing that might do both though, introduce a love interest that is an android but doesnt tell you, it might make for a interesting revelation and a amusing way to see how players react. It might be even more interesting if the protagonist is a human that survived in stasis, however their significant other died only to be replaced by an android.....and again they dont know/they dont tell you that they are one
