I'm pretty sure you can't. You can get the key for that quest "you gotta shoot them in the head", but the only way to unlock the suite without cheating is by blowing up Megaton. And while the idea is tempting, there were a few people in there I actually liked. On the other hand, if I had the option to nuke Galaxy news radio...

I liked the guy but he had his jerkish moment like extorting a kid trying to find their missing father and "calling out" someone for killing a guy who murdered a bunch of people and then began encouraging others to do the same to everyone they met that didn't share their condition. Man, Roy must have had one heck of a PR agent that even the game thought he was good karma.

Meh, will I be stuck with an shack again? FO3 in a way punishes you for being good by leaving you stuck in the lame and ugly shack house in Megaton, while if you are evil you get an bombing suite in a little piece of paradise. That was pretty unfair, really.

New Vegasarrow-10x10.png at least gives you a fancy home regardless of the karmic level.

I thought it was fine. I never picture my characters as the type to sit in leather couches while sipping 200 year old wine.

They feel more at home in the Wasteland, in the ruins of an house or of a train with a blanket, a gun and strategically placed mines.

That was exactly my reasoning for killing three dog. I allowed him to get away with the whole blackmail thing during his quest. But when he called me an scumbag for killing Roy (and excusing him if he murders everyone in the tower), that was the last straw. The last he saw was an shotgun blast to the face. Damn that Three Dog.

You'd think a guy who apparently has a wealth of spies, judging by his strange habit of always knowing what you are doing, would know about the sudden disappearance of a bunch of people in a single area - I mean, he even knew when I went searching for nothing but bottles!

He knows, you can't win that quest.

If you kill the ghouls, he berates you for it. If you help them enter the tower, he knows Roy has killed everyone and blames you for letting him in.

It's fitting for a post-apocalyptic Wasteland.

I was always confused on if his job was radio newsperson or my personal biographer.

It's an good lesson to show that compromise is not aways a solution.

Still, Roy is just as evil as Tempenny. So I don't really care what Three Dog thinks. The people at Tempenny tower might be bigots, but at least they are bigots just trying to mind their business. Not their fault Roy is such an stubborn idiot.

Well... aside from trying to hire people to detonate a nuclear bomb in a populated area. Other than that - yes, total isolationists. :)

Wasn't that just Tempenny idea? I don't remember the residents being involved with his plot.

I can't imagine Herbert "Daring" Dashwood going along with it...

Everybody here talkin' bout Three Dog and I'm just here with crossed fingers for a return of Mr. New Vegas or someone very similar.

They also deal with slavers, considering that Tenpenny used to own someone.

Three Dog > Mr. New Vegas!

I like how Three Dog plants a miniature camera and microphone on you and can track every thing you do in the Wasteland. Also i vastly prefer the music and atmosphere in Fallout 3 compared to New Vegas. One of the things that Bethesda does really well. I do like some of the Western themed songs of New Vegas though.

Anyone else who thinks the "building settlements" mechanic will be a failure?

First, the interface looks closer to Sims than Falout which has never been about anything more than doing quests and exploring.

Then, if it was a story about us building a settlement, it would have a better chance of work. As it is, it looks like it won't have any effect on anything and the people who will set up shop and raider who will attack will all be very lifeless.

Basically, something like Skyrim weddings. Sure, you can marry but why would you? It adds very little.

Yep.

I don't think there's really going to be any worthwhile content behind it. It's likely going to disappoint a lot of people who will then forget about their outrage because of mods.

On another note, has anyone ever thought how jarring was that Broken Steel never had an quest to aid the brotherhood to wipe out vault 87? Demolish the whole place if they had to. That would have a new effect of the super mutants stop spawning once you killed them in a area, since there will be none left to replace them.

Same. It will be as **** as that awful hearthfire DLC for Skyrim. It'll likely be a useless gimmick nobody will touch.

Why would you need to? By the time Broken Steel came out, you were assumed to have completed the main quest, which gave you the means to wipe out all the ghouls, mutants and undesireables in the Capitol Wastela...

...oh, wait. You didn't side with... well, this is awkward.

On a whole, I wish they had done a lot more with the Lyon's Pride.

You were supposed to be a member but it never really felt like it. First, add some content where you earn the position, then, during Broken Steel, Sarah is incapacitated so, you rise up to the occasion, befriend the squad, lead them on quests and when she wakes up, there is romance.

Well, you become one of them by the final quest of the vanilla game. But I suppose it makes sense you would gain their leadership once Sarah was in a coma. Having a side quest were you lead them against the super mutants would be great. Thought I doubt there was any chance for romance with Sarah considering how short everything is. Heh, who knows, maybe after Lyons passes she becomes the new elder while the Lone wanderer takes permanent leadership of the Lyon's pride. But from what I heard, the Fallout bible states the Lone wanderer disappears 20 years after the events of Fallout 3. Not sure if he ever had the chance to plant roots during that time.
