It was a pretty good moment actually. They'll fight with you when the time comes, and she reveals that last time they fought, they were actually under Reaper mind control. You can expect more friends in ME3.
Oh and, rachni scout vessels had been spotted near outlying systems. Nobody caught them though.

it wasn't 'that hard' to figure out the Rachni were under reaper control during the Rachni War. If you investigated all the Rachni's dialog in ME1 the queen says 'there was disharmony' in their hivemind, which when linked to the Rachni discovery of the Relay I took to mean Indoctrination.

I really feel like I have a far larger force to stand against the Reapers in the final act, because my character was a pure Paragon. I have the loyalty of both the Rachni and the Krogan.
