So , was my observation correct or was I merely drunk? Does indirect DC not trigger its bubble of denial?

I don't play biotics often but I'm fairly sure that a DC jump won't proc the bubble
it's like how you can look down and throw a grenade at a phantom and hit her without proccing her bubble. if you're not actively targetting a unit when the power is cast, it bypasses

Not with Praetorian. Even if you're not targetting it, it will proc the bubble. For example Overload forks, grenades, anything.really. Freaking Tac Scan makes it bubble.
The only power that goes through and keeps doing damage, when the crab bubbles is Reave.

Hit them enough, and they'll pop like Jiffy Pops.

What about when you're looking at the praetorian when the dc jumps to it, and also if you're touching yourself because that's your specific fetish, do you think it'll make it put up the bubble then?

I like to put it up when Flamer kits are around me. And when I bring extra penetration (Praetorian flip for joy in excitement!).

I concur.

^ Praetorians don't cheat. It's a full time job. So totally legit.

On a side note, it's still amazing how many pugs throw powers at a floating crab and continue to throw powers even after it's bubble of denial has been made. I know it doesn't say anywhere that it does that, but you would think that they would eventually notice what's going on and that it's not taking any damage... ![]()

When using a Flamer kit, I try to get the bubble up first, shoot while the bubble is up (Disruptor ammo FTW) and then when it drops the bubble it's down to armor only, and won't have the bubble available for the next few seconds. At which point, Flame On! ![]()

Hmm.... honestly I'm not sure all the information in here is accurate. From what I remember AOE powers do not bring up the bubble unless targeted the hitbox is targeted. Reave does go through for certain. Not sure about branching powers how they work but I would think the bubble of denial wouldn't come up on them. A lot of this has to be tested in a controlled environment because you have no idea WTF pugs are going to do and you have no idea how BW space magic is going to react as well at times.

I think DC jumps don't make the praetorian bubble up.
On a different note, I like it when pugs bring up the bubble as it makes collector games longer. This is also the reason why I don't focus on abombs to drain the budget quickly (unless it's a possessed one and I can troll a team-mate). 25 min collector games are glorious.

Oh, and I forgot. NuclearTech is right about the bubble not triggering as long as the aiming recticle is not on the Praetorian. ie. when using smash, aim at the ground instead. It's the same mechanic as Phantom bubble in this case.

I am pretty sure that dark channel continues its work - no matter if Praetorians or phantoms raise their bubble.
This I did not know. DC is hitscan and I am pretty sure phantom don't raise their bubble until you hit them with projectile power. Praetorians on the other hand are scumbags and would bubble up at every power. Although I am aware Reave damages them anyway. Don't all DOT stop after they bubble up?
#20
Posté 09 juin 2015 - 07:52
^ It should work because a jumping dark channel does not use the highlight enemy targeting recticle. That's what makes the bubble go up (highlighting the enemy and using a power).

You can also put a proxy or recon mine on the ground (while not aiming at the Praetorian) and let a Praetorian fly over it and not proc the bubble.
