I never saw anyone refer to the kit as terrible, it is just relatively boring since it is the standard HS trading CS for Carnage. As much as I love carnage CS is just insane.

Calvin might have a monster throwing arm. His nades pass up the Carnage shots mid-flight. That's it...I'm pretty sure.
Or Carnage goes so slow that it's essentially the Mooninite Quad-Laser.

Getting an enemy lock for Carnage then aiming again more properly for the nades is quite different from, let's say, ricocheting an inferno nade from out of sight and off a wall, then exposing yourself just enough to get a enemy cursor highlight for the carnage follow up... is quite different and much more laid back.
Also noticed that if I hit a spawn with BF3, I feel the need to throw a nade first to stagger all, then carnage > another nade followup. Maybe I'm too used to with the more laid back of starting with nades > combo or how incinerate > arc nades feels much, much easier. Plus on the QME you can start with nades too.
Only real upside to playing BF3 kit over other kits is the extra challenge. Since all other nade kits make the game much more of a breeze. Still, next time I need to try BF3 kit with all powers instead of skipping AR. He needs more spice/variety.
EDIT - oh, and you saying you can carnage > instant nades. Your aim is that awesome? You need to show me this awesome next time we play.

Here, I'll fix you're build: No fitness or GTFO
I also use the Wraith and Talon on him. If you still feel like you're too squishy you can drop the power amp for a cyclonic. I have a video of him, but I was using the Talon with AP ammo instead of distruptor, but I like your idea better. Playstyle is shoot->AR->shoot->carnage (tech burst) and hides reload->shoot->frag (fire explosion) and hides reload. Rinse and repeat for MASSIVE boss damage. I enjoy him with the Talon the most for that power magnifier and plenty of ammo for mooks. Those with better aim will get much more satisfaction with the claymore.
The vanilla soldier is a better tech burster because of the low cooldown on CS. This guy is meant to churn out serious armor dps and AR is vital to that.
This is pretty much the same build I use(d), except I think I went weapon damage in the passives.

I always preferred the falcon on this build since it is a great ammo applicator and I love the falcon. I also enjoyed killing as many things with fire explosions instead of playing the weapon like some deerber around here
... I could kneecap you for that, you know? ... I even have a double tap claymore at hand to get both knees ![]()
... Not that I'd need two shots from that monster to hit both knees, now that I think about it ![]()

Yeah, a stagger weapon with some area dmg would help him a lot. Was even thinking this earlier. But not too many stagger weapons that I enjoy outside the ADAS every now and then. And I never play with the Acolyte outside of when I did the Pistol challenges several times. Falcon for some reason I never fell in love with.

Falcon for some reason I never fell in love with.
It's damage is Benoit (balls) but for on-demand stagger I love nothing more than the simplicity. No charge up like Lackolyte or Venom. No need to zoom like Crysae. No crazypants everything-is-exploding-but-my-target-Striker then I'm out of ammo. No foot-fetish aiming like the Scorpion needs for insta-stagger. Just aim for an air-burst anywhere near the enemy and it should work.
Just bring a sidearm. =/

But don't you find the ADAS kinda replaces it in all except weight?
EDIT - thinking of trying something like this in the morning; http://kalence.drupa...!..O51334!0F055

ADAS always gives me LoS grief. Falcon on the other hand is pretty much mastery over LoS if you can arc it right. Can even use the roof in enclosed areas. Falcon also seems to have a larger AoE priming range.

Venom is great on this guy.
Same idea as Acolyte but more better. Venom spawn, Carnage, Frag. Hide Venom reloads with Carnage.

Same idea as Acolyte but more better.
Just shameful grammar.
What you meant to say was "...but more gooder"
Trust me. I was raised in WI, so my grasp of the English language is more gooderer than ALL of them ones.
