The actual content of this was worked on quite a bit after JoH was finalized, yes some of the meshes and alike was used from the JoH but doesnt mean it was cut.

Source: I was QA on both products

Well, I did say "carved out" not "cut". Basically I meant that the content is thematically in line with JoH, certainly seems like it was meant to be part of it, but wasn't, and instead is being sold separately.  Its like what they did with the base game and the Flames of the Inquisition pre-order bonuses, in a way. I'm not saying its necessarily nefarious to do DLC like this.

I don't think it was a good move, though. Likely gonna get some backlash about it.

Perhaps they should have just waited on the development of the DLC a bit so they could have time to include these items in it instead of releasing them separately.

Or released the decor and mounts, for instance, as a separate pack like this, but along with other non-JoH related decor and mounts for Skyhold or something. People would still be able to complain that the Avvar stuff should have been in JoH if they wanted, but there would be more to the pack than that and the argument wouldn't hold water.

As it stands now, it looks like these are all things that should have been in the DLC we already paid 15 dollars for not a month ago/few months ago, depending on platform. Regardless of whether these assets were actually complete at the time, content-wise they are related and, I would argue, should have been together.

Its no skin off my nose, since I don't see myself buying this miscellaneous content pack, anyway. Just saying.

And since you are QA, can you tell them we want hair and Skyhold clothes, please? lol

Spoiler

Ooo! Time to go pimp mah Halla!

I really like the Avvar Theme. Does this come out for PC too? I haven't found it in Origin yet.

It's showing up for me, Gilli.

Unless those "includes two sets of unique armor as loot and schematics" are able to be worn instead of the skyjammies, which I doubt, its likely not worth buying, IMO.

That painted thing would already be an improvemant to the jammies, in my opinion. At least have personality and is not beige  mud for mud, I'd prefer the more original one.

I hate to sound like a downer but... this?! I knew they would come out with some fairly useless mostly aesthetic DLC, whether it was overpriced or not. What I really hoped though, was that instead of giving us things we really don't need, actually look at the feedback on this forum, reddit, and everywhere else and give us just a few hairs and an option to get out of that Skyhold outfit! Seriously!

It would probably take the same amount of effort as this pack, but I feel like more people would want to buy it.

 :(

Sigh... we get a really good dlc for free, one that offers a lot of nice bits for DAI and there are complaints it doesn't go far enough. Now we get this dlc....

we'll see, depends on what the schematics entails.

secondly, it would've been fitting if they had added perhaps new Specializations? like... Berserker? and some for the rogue and mage

Well, that free DLC already pretty much made this one useless in terms of content. Especially if you have Jaws. I mean, all "3" DLCs so far for Inquisition have drowned us in schematics and pointless Skyhold options. Why they thought we would want more of that... I have no idea.

Pay $15 for some story and exploration + new gear

Or

Pay $5 for some new gear that might not be better than said $15 DLC

Or

Download free DLC with tons of gear

I think you are trying to complain about complainers here, but I don't entirely get your point. None of this is Black Emporium content, anyway, except for the schematics maybe?.

I really doubt that we'll get new DAI specializations... ever. lol That's a gameplay mechanic. And a bigger deal than, say, just adding a single new ability like the Inquisitor gets with JoH.

Ok but.. Has anyone... Ever asked for such content? Did they really use precious resources to create content nobody has ever asked for?

The shematics are of the armours in the images. So the paint armour and the fur one.

I mean, it's just cosmetics really, and item packs are pretty much a norm when it comes to dlc since it revenues pretty decently without much effort.

I haven't seen anyone ask for this kind of stuff. Do we really need more Skyhold beds and glass you never see? More mounts?!

So no, I really haven't seen anyone ask for this kind of stuff, especially after JoH and the BE gave us what we needed in terms of gear. But there has been an utter outcry for hair and a new Skyhold outfit, and nothing? Bioware, show us you're actually listening instead of pretty much confirming that you're not!

*sigh* They need to sort out their priorities...

You know what other cosmetic pack they could make with minimal effort that would generate possibly more revenue than this one? A hair and Skyhold outfit pack. Seriously.

Cormetic for cosmetic, could have directed those resurces for stuff that people is asking from before the game was out. Like Skyhold outfits and new non bald, non shaved hairstyles (expecially for Qunari and female characters).  -_- is always cosmetic content, but it would be actually asked content.

Seriously BioWare. *rolls eyes*

Do you take us for morons?

Sorry if I'm sounding harsh, I've been a fan of Inquisition, but this is ridiculous in my opinion. This DLC should had been included with Jaws of Hakkon to begin with. I'll skip for now. So disappointed.

Edit: Read the comment posted by the QA and I still feel like this should had been in the JoH DLC to begin with or at least bundled with.

A hair and Skyhold outfit pack. Seriously.

The former-no, it's definitely not as easy getting the correct set of hairstyles that can please fans and have it fit all 8 models, implement (hello physics, simulating thousands of hairstrands without clipping the model) and then bugfix (may I add the engine itself doesn't seem to support hairstyles that well, or maybe they just haven't learned enough about it to implement); the process is more complicated than armor using meshes already in the game. the latter yes, I actually agree.

I imagine though the difficulty with Skyhold outfit is that it's used as the base clothing for the main armor in the game, i.e.: you always have to have it on because it's basically part of your armor. I dunno much about that, though.

This is so funny.

*snip*

"Like"s aside I think Bioware needs to readjust it's business strategy, or maybe even EA. I believe there's this philosophy that you should milk as much money as possible from a single game, as opposed to rewarding fans encouraging them to continue supporting future games. This isn't CoD EA/Bioware, you have a very loyal fanbase who continue to support each game you put out, and honestly paid cosmetic dlcs should just stop, it may seem like a loss in the beginning, but when you draw in fans with free stuff, they'll pay for the bigger stuff.

The latest article about frostbite sayd the hair are quite easy to model now. Beside Qunari, (that have horns) all the others races have the same head. That's why elves seem to have a head too big for their almost anorexic body. And that's why mair on male and female work (or don't work) in the same way.

And if hair are oh so hard, why Isabela, a MP character, got her own hairstyle? no one is asking for moving hair (this seem to be a privilege for NPC  <_<) the outfit is possible to be changed (BioWare devs sayd so little after DAI was out) but at the moment they weren't working on it.

Half a year have passed, I can't believe in all this time the devs didn't had time to create something new!!!

Useless? The mirror alone is worth it. The schematics are also worthwhile especially the new ones, and then there's the fact that you ow have access to the majority of crafting reagents as long as you have the cash. Which is especially nice when you're trying to come up with cloth because it's not just go to the node. And then there's the fact it's not just the stuff added in to say a generic merchant.

It's the Black Emporium. I don't want to think what it took them to rebuild the place in Frostbyte. And then getting the VA in the studio for voice work...

You're ever going to get a free download with tons of gear. Period, end of story. Not going to happen. Bioware is a for profit business. They have to make money. They don't just wave a wand and make these things appear. There are hours and hours of work going into designs and writing and quality control. They have to recoup. They could have sold BE, but they didn't. They gave it to us.

And don't make assumptions about how "easy" anything is. We don't know what it would take to put in new hairstyles or be able to allow for a costume change at Skyhold. If I remember correctly, Dave Gaider did say they wanted to do the latter but there were technical issues that didn't allow for it. Is it possible they're working to change that, yeah, but it's also possible they have other priorities.

I think you are trying to complain about complainers here, but I don't entirely get your point. None of this is Black Emporium content, anyway, except for the schematics maybe?.

See above. And yes, I'm annoyed.

1) As I said, they probably haven't learned it until recently, and never underestimate the time it would take to learn a game engine. As for the second point, you're completely incorrect, proportions are glaringly different between humans/elves/dwarves for both males and females, I suggest you hit character creator again and check things out.

2) Because Isabela is a single, fixed character. There are zero variables to her customization whereas there are hundreds for the Inquisitor.

3) Probably because they worked on bug-fixing, QoL improvements, Black Emporium, Jaws Of Hakkon, Wolf Hunt DLC instead of adding new hair. I know which ones I'd prefer.

Yeah while mostly working with a set model, characters like Isabela only has one model which makes hair for her "easier" to work it

Now that isn't to say it can't be done for the Inquisitor but I'd imagine it would take longer for them
