That's fine and all, but that isn't the problem. I don't think any of us have a problem with aesthetic DLCs. Heck, a lot of complainers say they want one, just not this one. The problem is that the content of this pack is not what most people asked for (and I'm being generous, because I haven't seen anyone ask for these things).

Just skip it, hold on to your money. That´s what I did since launch.

Wait for the next DLC, repeat the process if you don´t like the content.

Haha. No. While I will certainly hold on to my money, why the heck wouldn't I give them my feedback? Just skipping the content you don't like is way dumber than skipping it and telling them why, so they might make better things next.

I really thought that was obvious.

well i guess it's not a bad offering, but this dlc doesn't interest me either, I would not mind other Premium stuff DLCs, and Jaws of Hakkon, but honestly after the looong delay of the PS4 release I decided on buying something else instead and wait a bit longer for the DLCs.

Wasn´t the first time and won´t be the last you´ll see DLC like this, regardless of feedback.

But knock yourself out.

Obviously you missed my comment about how DLCs like this are not bad. I want them! But this one is bad. I want them to do better. What's wrong with that?

It's called feedback, and that's good. If a lot of people don't want something, one would hope Bioware would make something more people want next.

Sales deliver feedback, not rants on a forum from people grandstanding in order to make themselves feel better.

I'll get it. I was just going to spend those five dollars on sugary snacks this afternoon. Now I'll spend it on DLC and my bathroom scale (Not to mention my dentist) will be grateful. :)

Yeah, seriously. Of course sales deliver feedback. I am seriously not seeing the logic of saying we shouldn't also say our feedback. There is no point not doing that.

That moment when you realize all this should be a part of Jaws of Hakkon DLC instead of sold separately because EA. Oh, well, back to waiting for the new Story DLC.

Nothing. It´s as harmless as it is fruitless to think you´ll have any influence on the content provided. I have nothing against that mindset.

How is detailing why you don't like the content of this pack, and detailing what you would like to buy in the future not constructive?

People will buy this, yes, but I seriously doubt it will sell very well, and not as well as numerous other suggestions made by people here would. So if they want to make people happy, make money, or both, they should listen to us. Not only that, but the feedback for this pack has been overwhelmingly negative. Here, where a lot of the more avid fans who spend money on these things are, and on social media where more casual players less likely to buy these packs are, more than 90% of the comments I've read have been negative. One would hope that they take that into account. It would benefit everyone, so if they don't improve, they're just stubborn.

This post, and your reasoning on this issue in general, is drowning in self-selective bias.

Short expansion on the above: Just because the majority of people in threads about hair choices want more hair choices, does not mean that the majority of players want more hair choices, or that enough people want more hair choices to make such a DLC viable.

Two can play at this 100 dollar term game.

I find your argument superficial and pedantic.

When did I even say that? What I will say though, is that I have seen people say the hair and Skyhold outfit are bad not only all over this forum, quite outside the hair threads, as well as all over the internet in general. I haven't seen a single person say the hair selection was good, or that they liked the Skyhold outfit. Sure, lots of people don't care either way, but it seems (keyword: seems) like most people want something. Besides, I surely think it would be more viable than Spoils of the Avvar, at least.

It might be unlikely that I, personally, will sway Bioware to do anything, but it's just silly to think that the entire fanbase has no influence over content provided. Do you know how a fanbase tells Bioware what they would like, and not like to see? By telling them, individually. Each of those individual comments adds to a whole that would not exist without them. So I'll do my part, and tell them individually, because I have nothing to lose, and everything to gain.

If Bioware listens to us, and decides to make the next DLC pack something more people seem to want, it will:

1. Make many fans happy.

2. Make Bioware money. More money than if they don't listen.

I don't see the point in complaining about people giving feedback.

Funny. It's like ea and bioware exists in parallel word, people desperately want new hair and skyhold outfit. Personally, I don't care about it but it's clear as day that this two things should be in their first dlc, I hear people complain about everywhere from the beginning. Nope! We will release more ugly armor and mounts, things that nobody care about. Guys your marketing team sucks, you should fire them.

Funny thing is:

  • If DLC 'equipment' is seen to be too good then people are upset because essential stuff should have been in the base game or base DLC.
  • If DLC 'equipment' is basically just optional fluff, then people are upset because it's not worth it.

Clearly EA have their marketeers, but in my opinion, these packs would be better served being closer to 'app-priced'

in other words, sell it for $1-2 rather than $5 and you make it a shrug purchase rather than a meh non-purchase.

I'm not disrespecting development effort of any kind,

but the Avvar style personally looks like a mess of muddy daub, however you tint it...

Hey, good for CDPR, but that kinda makes me wonder. How do they know there are going to be 16 free DLC? If BioWare made a claim like that, you know detractors would either harrumph and say that the content should have been there all along or they would accuse BioWare of deliberately holding the content back as a publicity stunt.

SO long as the DLC are free i'm fine with it,publicity or not

This should simply be bundled with JoH. If you own JoH, it's free. If not, and you don't want to get JoH, it's $5. That seems more fair, and might encourage more people to buy the more expensive DLC than otherwise.

this DLC is simply uninteresting and was supposed to be included in the 15$ of the joH, i understand that is even more sad that it was not included in the previous DLC.

I don't know about that. I think an actual gear pack DLC with enough unique gear could be seen as worthwhile overall.

this DLC seems doesn't seem to fit in with anything.

Actually I liked the DA2 item packs precisely because they had some powerful items. Also it was $5 for three item packs bundled together. Most of the accessories and weapons had the "Improves with Level Up" stat, which meant that sword or shield was good for the entire game.

I actually haven't really seen anyone complaining about this pack for either of those reasons. I haven't seen anyone saying the armour is too good or not good enough. None. People aren't liking it for very different reasons.

I never understood the notion that some people think we would be interested in knowing whether they won't be buying a product. If you don't want it, don't buy it. What's the purpose of announcing it other than attention seeking?

I think I can enlighten you regarding that "notion". It is called "several people in a forum discussing and sharing opinions that happen to be very much related to the main theme of said forum. In this case, DAI, a new DAI dlc, cost of that DAI dlc. People have also been sharing why they liked the content of said dlc as others voiced their opinion why they didn't like it, to name few aspects of that "notion".

What it is very intriguing, is your need to imply you are representing the opinion of several people in your posts, as if you were some sort of group spokesperson (as per the use of your "we" and "they"), when it is just your opinion.

It seems very strange that a member of a forum who has posted more than 6,300 comments on that forum, would require a clarification on what are the general purpose of forums.
