Can someone tell me how this whole "gender identity" works? From what I know this whole thing is considered as some kind of personality disorder.

Im a dude because I got dude bits and a chick is a chick because she has girl bits. If a girl identifies as a guy, isnt that some kind of mental illness? Maybe my definition of what gender is, is too literal but this isnt skyrim's custom character select screen, you cant just say you're one gender when you're really the other.

Sex is determined by your physical body, gender is determined by the internet

There are plenty of other stuff that you neither know or understand. So, As i said, Stop judging what you don't understand. Also, It's better to educate yourself about the matter before and NOT after speaking about the matter.

Well you see, there's a difference between judging and not giving a crap.

I don't judge anyone. Live and let live and all that. That said, I don't feel the need to learn how to address "correctly" (according to who?) every individual that thinks that they are a special snowflake.

Sometimes, yeah. The DSM-5 defines "Gender dysphoria" as when a person suffers from significant distress from a sex/gender mismatch; gender nonconformity per se isn't a condition without such distress. It's been separated from sexual dysfunctions and so forth into its own category. But it's still considered a condition -- otherwise treatments for it wouldn't be covered by insurance.

Though I'm not sure this makes it a personality disorder. Both the brain and the visible body are physical things, and in this case we have a mismatch between the two. It doesn't particularly matter which one of those is "right." Can't change sexual identity in the brain since the mechanism isn't really understood, so they have to work on the externals.

As for the OP's question, I'm with Miley Cyrus. Worrying about this stuff is a waste of time. Though that's easy for me to say, since as a straight white male American -- and a WASP to boot -- I've already won the identity lottery.

Nah, it means you're an oppressive shitlord but if you donate to my Pateron, you'll be less of an oppressive shitlord and may even be human one day.

Remember, our Lord and Savior, the almighty Dollar, died on the cross for our sins.

And he's gonna have to die some more if our sins are to be absolved. So please, kill your dollars by giving them to me.

You guys/gals really don't know?

Gender is mental. How one acts determined by societal norms.

Sex is biological. Y chromosome or lack thereof

Well, I am in the position in which my sex and gender are the same: Cis Female.

My orientation is Panromantic Asexual, long version: I do not experience sexual attraction, however personally I do experience romantic, sensual and aesthetic attraction, and I am also what is known as sex-positive Asexual.

(side note: labels are a pain in the ass)

Anyway....to make a long story short....
