I have been playing multiplayer for a quite while but I still have difficulty to play with friends. How do most of you who plays with your friends do that? Do you have lots of friends so that there is always plenty of friends online? Or you just have a few very active friends and set up a appointment? Do you know each other in reality?
How to start a private game with friends?

Just send them a PM if they're on and ask if they want to play with you. If they say yes, wait until their game is over, make a private lobby, then invite them.
I play with random people mostly. I have a couple of people who I play with on occasion, but mostly I live the PuGlyfe.

Get a few bottles of beer and/or wine. Take one to your dome. Start spinning that one while sitting Indian style in a circle. With a little bit of music to set the mood, the game will get private reeeaalll fast.
Best location: Parent's basement.
PS: forgot to include you should do this with friends.

Otherwise start a voice chat room and invite friends or even start a private game and do the same.

I have two friends that I play with most days and we get a random in to fill. There's another that I play with later in the night. Then there are others that we join from time to time usually at weekends.
The regulars and I have a fairly common routine so we know when about to expect company a quick PM gets a lobby up and waiting.

I have quite a few friends on DAIMP (mostly american) that I've met just through playing. I'm just a grumpy Englishman and they seem to like it, win.
Gotta love them cynical Brits!

You can send a friend request to anyone after you play a PUG and feel that the other player is someone you want to play with. This will build up and most players don't turn down a friend request. This way you can build up a core in couple weeks and then its a matter of timing if they are not in a full group when your ready to play.I have been playing multiplayer for a quite while but I still have difficulty to play with friends. You have to invite many people, there is a thread for it. But i got mine mostly from pugs, when i get a good Host and spend couple of great games with them, i add them.
I normally have 16-22 ppl on playing daily, nearly 30 on weekends.

The way you do it is to keep playing the PUG over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over....
and you'll eventually bump into the same players over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...
then you figure, screw it I'll add this guy/girl as a friend since we're both doing the same stuff. You get in a good 2 weeks worth of private matches, then they up and quit. You start back again from the top of my post.
I see the same people every few days, if not every time I play. The player pool is shallow, so there's no need to add ppl as friends if you see them all the time. I add ppl if we are working on similar objectives (dragon farming, banner completions etc). If you get a good team going to set it to private and start a party (if available). Most ppl on my FL know I don't talk much on mics b/c I'm usually multi-tasking even if the conversation is good. I don't want to appear rude as if I'm ignoring so I'll usually tell them the first time we private.

Alternatively, every time you have a good pug with someone who has a decent connection for hosting, send them a friend request, wait until they reject it, cry in the shower etc etc.

Or in my case add people then never get invited to games and rage delete all your FR as they're useless.
I don't do it out of rage, but if I add people then obviously I have the intention of playing with them. If we don't play at all over a period of time then I see no point in keeping them there so I can watch them sign offline and online. If they are grouped already or something then I understand that completely. I just don't make it a habit to have a list of people to look at their names.

If you're on PC, the basic method is to start up Origin, see that your friend list isn't loading because Origin sucks bawlz, solo a few games, crash to desktop in zone 5, cry in the shower about how empty and meaningless life is, go to sleep.
Alternatively, every time you have a good pug with someone who has a decent connection for hosting, send them a friend request, wait until they reject it, cry in the shower etc etc.
Dedicated fan to Bioware to put up with this.

I really hate how Origin restricts you to 100 friends.

That is one think about Origin which sucks badly. My Friend List has had 100 friends since the days of ME3. I had to unfriend a bunch of nice ME3 peeps in order to get some Damp peeps in. And I regularly still unfriend inactive Damp players to friend active ones, then the inactive ones suddenly come back to the game and think I am a jerk.
