There are numerous unique Elven items that hold historical significance to the elves. Has anyone felt obligated to sell them to the Dalish camp at the Exalted Plains? I sold the ancient keeper robe I found at one temple. At that point I could already craft a special keeper robe for Solas to keep for himself. I'm also tempted to sell them the Evanura sword and Tevinter items that were used to oppress the elves.
Would you sell Elven artifacts to the Dalish Camp?

I might sell the Golden Halla hide, and tell the guy who was looking for him: "Your halla seems to have... expired"

That only has a benefit if you are roleplaying your character. Other than that I doubt it makes a difference.

Unless you're going to sell them the stuff for your own roleplay reasons, there's no effect from selling or not selling any items there. In other words, they don't actually care.

I'd sell them torn trousers, broken bows and moth-eaten scarfs, but you can't find those anymore.

If I weren't a PC, I'd expect less 'selling' and more 'robbed and lucky to be left alive.' Somehow I doubt most Dalish we've met would respond nicely to any attempt to ransom off their prized cultural heritage.
I suspect they'd ask anyone carting around elven artifacts to hand them over, once, and not take no for an answer. It's just one shem, after all.

I hadn't thought about it, but I might in future. In Skyrim, I sell or donate all my papers, journals and unwanted books to the library at the Winterhold College.

I don't rp to that extent through my playthroughs so no, but it would've been a nice touch if Bioware made that have an effect on something, even just dialogue, in which case I surely would have. Missed opportunities, tsk tsk

Hmm. Maybe giving Loranil the Evanura sword would be better.
Interesting how some don't think it's important.

Cultural artifacts exist for all people, usually outside their hands.
If the Dalish lost them in the first place, their history was no longer solely their's.
A good example is Maric's sword which belonged to a Dwarven Lord originally. It rotted in the deep roads for centuries until Maric put it to use.

Errr, nope.
You see, one of my characters is a Hunter, who can use a lot of this herself...
And the other is a First, who has pretty much a lifetime of instructions of how to handle this from her Keeper.
So, uh... when I think about it, not really...? Uh... does it count if it's already WITH the Dalish?

If you mean by "sell it to them then ambush and kill them and take the artefacts back to sell to the next gullible fools".......then yes?
You should bare my children.

Lol.
Sure, why not.
I always wanted little ones that would run around yelling, "Get 'em! They're different!"

For my Elven Inquisitor?
YES.
Every time.
I would merely give them to the Dalish if I could.
I always do insignificant things like this.
That silly junk book that Marethari gives Hawke at the end of Night Terrors? That always gets sold back to the Dalish.
Useless from a mechanics perspective. Invaluable on a personal, roleplaying level.

I'd open up a shop in Minrathous. Fine elven crafts, direct from Ferelden and Orlais. You won't find better.
