I dunno why, but for me, the chap's music has always had a sort of fingernails-down-a-blackboard quality to it.  I mean for a different reason that I found Genesis to also be rather hard work.

I like Phil Collins well enough I suppose. Music is so subjective 90% of the time though. It doesn't matter who you like or listen to in the end.

Yeah. Though my earlier comment was somewhat facetious, this is really true. People like what they like and should be free to do so. I'm now off to listen to some nasty old pre-Midge Ure era Ultravox, which is both obscure and quite dubious in terms of taste.

So I don't see why you shouldn't like Phil Collins.
