I hope its explained how they manged to open this park after all that's happened. I would think after all that's happened, I would think some governments would have a problem with a park like this by now...

I would have kept it closed down.

At least they didn't decide to ship Indominus rex by ship to some populated city this time around again like the T-rex and it's baby.  Now that was a dumb idea.

I wasn't interested until I saw who was directing. Loved Safety Not Guaranteed -- Excellent film with a unique take on the concept of time travel and great for a debut director. But then again -- Jurassic Park... neeeeegh.

So what's the over-under on Chris Pratt using the phrase "clever girl"?

Not taking that bet! That line has become almost as famous as the movie itself.

That and "hold onto your butts."

Why listen to a reviewer?

I had a feeling it might be something along those lines from the moment I heard about the gene spliced super platypus dinosaur. Not a fan of the main event dinosaur not being an actual dinosaur.

Do I need to bring up the ****** raptors again?

Hell the Spinosaurus needs a mention too.

I love this series. But all the whining for World can be applied to every film in series.

"Monster movie, not a Jurassic Park movie"

They all were.

Also it bears repeating. We could've gotten this ****** movie instead.

So how about we give the Indominus Rex a little leeway, eh?

Those are real, just historically inaccurate.

Why listen to a reviewer?

To a single reviewer, sure.

But when taken as a whole they are usually right. Although there are a couple exceptions, I tend to enjoy movies that have mostly gotten positive reviews and tend to dislike those which are panned.

To be fair, the reviews for Jurassic World are mostly positive, though not glowing. But that is not the first time I've heard a reviewer say it doesn't quite capture the magic of the original. That's a big issue for me, particularly since I already wasn't crazy about the premise of using a frankendinosaur instead of a recreation of one of the real animals as the big bad. Half of the fun of the original Jurassic Park wasn't necessarily in seeing people getting eaten by T-Rex, though those scenes of course were fun too, but in getting to see these amazing animals brought back to life on the big screen. Whose jaw didn't drop during this scene back in the theaters in 1993?

That more than one reviewer is saying its more monster movie than a dinosaur movie makes it a pass for me.

The reason why every Jurassic Park movie has failed to live up to the original is because Hollywood keeps trying to go with the usual blockbuster formula of upping the ante with each chapter, instead of just trying to recapture some of what made the first film so beloved.

Or in the Raptors case, hideously mislabeled.

Which I consider a far worse offense.

Cool.

You're the one moaning about made up dinosaurs.

The things are composites of like 3 species. They're made up too, but with no justification.

You don't get to respond like that.

Sure I do.

They're close to being a mislabeled deinonychus without getting super anal about it so they work for me.

Indominus has no pretense of being a dinosaur at all.

May as well be those humanoid abominations.

Aside from the spliced in T-rex and Raptor you mean?

You are welcome to, but I don't have to give it any leeway. I'd rather spend the money elsewhere, and wait till its on TV.

The original wasn't a 100% accurate portrayal of real dinosaurs either. Hell, recent discoveries of feathered tyrannosaurs (some older than T-Rex) may mean that T-Rex was feathered as well. The real thing might have looked something like this guy:

But even so, I think even the raptors are less farther off from the real thing than Indominus Rex.

The feathers are hella baller.

If it's a good movie then it should be supported. That's my stance. If the early reviews are of any indication it's good. So, don't see it, and don't see Star Wars VII because of the crossguard, and don't see Fury Road because Tom Hardy isn't Mel Gibson (Which is a good thing, but *Gasp* It's different! Oh Noes!). It's not like Terminator Genysis which is just retreading old ground and being a piece of ****, it's trying to at least deviate from the path of the other 3.
