I love the design of the spiders in dragon age inquisition, but I'm disappointed that there isn't a whole area devoted them.  In many games spiders are usually under played and also dumbed down to only crawling on the ground and are agile as a bear.

I envision spiders as apex predators with the agility and stealth of a professional assassin, if not, better than one.

So I believe in the world of DAI there should be a location completely devoted to the eight-legged terror with different sizes, shapes, and colors.  Also improve their AI and movement capabilities to allow them to crawl around the walls and ceilings to flank and ambush the player.  Giving spiders these tactics I would guarantee fights with arachnids would become more intense...but maybe too intense and anyone with arachnophobia, or is general fearful of spiders, would probably never fight against them lol.

Another addition with this DLC would be Spider Silk armor.  As soft as silk, but stronger than steel...

Thinking about it now, a system like this would probably be too big for DLC, probably in the next Dragon Age game.  Well the idea is out there free for you to use Bioware.

You're welcome, though I'm sure someone has already thought of this idea and I hope one day I would see a game that would take spiders to the next level for gaming.

I would love more spiders, giant or otherwise, if only because I get a kick out of arachnophobes having to mod them out of their game.

This probably makes me a bad person.

Pet spider DLC BioWare plz.

One of my many favorite things about DAO was that, with the ranger specialization, we basically could have a pet spider. Big, dangerously loyal, eight-legged babies.

This is unusual. Normally people are complaining about the spiders. As an arachnophobe, can't say I like this idea. There are enough spiders for me.

I'm neutral about spiders, but I think the OP's point about spiders having loads of unused combat mechanic potential is too good to pass up. So +1 for super scary, super annoying Geth Hopper spiders in the next game! May they ambush you from the ceiling, trap you in webs and jump out of range etc.

Ahem.

Edit: Also, have your companions be able to free you from webs!

I loved that about DAO as well and Neverwinter too.  When I played a ranger in Pillar of Eternity there wasn't a choice for a spider pet, it was disappointing.

Now that DAI isn't as vertically challenged as previous installments, I could see them possibly having some fun with enemies on walls and ceilings now. Natural Selection is pretty cool about this with the Skulks.

I'm not especially enthusiastic about giant spiders but if they're going to have them they might as well give them interesting combat mechanics instead of pretty much acting like wolves with a ranged spit attack.

Hrm, didn't notice there wasn't a spider option.... I saw the wolf and chose it straight away. :P

You know what you can choose in PoE, though? A dwarf mage.

Your'e kidding right?

About the Bio's ability to code proper tactics, I mean. The current tactical incarnation is pitifull at best and their AI programmed module is written by amateurs. Either that, or blame the Creative Director for insisting that we use the horrible tac-cam for tactical play. That design decision is also horrible. or more accurately, its implementation. I see no future in DAI except new DLCs. and I really doubt Bio will chage their coding modules to provide a reasonable tactical system unless it's a stand alone DLC.

Spiders, I don't like, much. Path of the Exile has plenty of them. It's a free MMO you can play if you like creepy crawlers.

Spiders are mostly blehh to me.

Imagination can be put towards so many other things.

I accept them though.
