Now I'm kind of hoping that BioWare announces that in response to fan romance requests they're releasing a DLC where Varric romances Harding.

Honestly, I cannot fathom what Varric ever saw in that cow Bianca. I am thoroughly unimpressed.
But it's not in Varric's nature to be a LI. Being a romantic interest is just too close to being a leading man, and he's strictly supporting cast material.
