Subjective, Depends on the person. There's no objective meaning of reality. I think the more appropriate question is what makes you feel good? What makes you feel that you're "Alive"? Spend sometime thinking about that and piecing it together then you'd define the subjective meaning of life. Life can be meaningful objectively as well from a societal point of view and some people follow that point of view. It's also known as Collective Consciousness.
What is the general consensus about the main objective to life? Is it to make yourself happy, make others happy, or is happy not even the correct route?

What is the general consensus about the main objective to life? Is it to make yourself happy, make others happy, or is happy not even the correct route?
To me, Is to make myself happy and to achieve my ambitions. But to you or anyone else, It could be whatever you want, Whether you want to live a life of self-denial, Society first, Others first. Or you want to be happy and comfortable in your own skin and to do whatever you want.
I don't think it's a matter of being happy per se, I think it's a matter of being comfortable in your own skin. When you find purpose in your life, You become more comfortable in your own skin and therefore, You become happier.

I actually teach philosophy, and unfortunately, I can assure you that there is absolutely no consensus on this subject whatsoever.
