Perhaps if you kindly would, you could elaborate with some examples of what you consider a "saturday morning cartoonish-mess"?

the entire DA:I story and corpheus just make it even more silly with his pathetic reason for wanting to become a "God" just like every evil cartoon villian and it just gets worse after the attack on havon because at that point hes just background noise and isn't worth being taken seriously anymore.

FALSE ALARM!

Hey @lucyjamesgames, can you elaborate more on what you meant by "we may not necessarily be playing as the Inquisitor" in regards to DLC?

@BioFanOfficial I genuinely know nothing, just going off this:

If we don't play the Inquisitor I won't buy it. Leliana's Song or the Drakspawn Chronicles were terrible and not interesting at all.

I want to be able to continue with MY own character, not with Leliana, Cullen or else.

Oh, bother. And here I was just starting to enjoy some semi-officially-sanctioned speculation. I guess I'll just have to go with completely-off-the-charts baseless guesses. Or is that the same thing?

Only thing i could think of is playing as Hawke an exploring events when s/he leaves for weisshaupt

which tbh, i would be hell of a interest in

EDIT: going by earlier post it was just all a mix up

People complaining about questlines and whatnot do realize this is still a non-spoiler forum? Even the thread title indicates minor spoilers, not revealing villain names, major aspects of story quest, and game endings. There's 50 threads dedicated to Witcher v. DA:I, please, for the love of all that's good, take it there.

My personal reason is because I enjoy quest like that more then the ones like Here lies the abyss or in hushed whispers because I actually feel sorry for all parties involed in the bloody baron questline, but in quest like Champions of the just and In your heart shall burn I just simply do not care about whats happening to the people in those quest because they don't give me a reason to.

Different strokes then. I enjoyed In Hushed Whispers, for example, because I care about the DA world, and I had a connection with the companions I'd taken with me on that quest. I enjoy that DA gives me the opportunity to forge my own relationships with various characters, I'm not forced into friendships with people I don't want to be bothered with. I struggled to care in TW because the vast majority of my relationships had been decided for me, something I generally don't like. Also because I didn't find the majority of the characters to be terribly likeable, I struggled to find motivation to save them or help them. With the exception of rock trolls, who I will always help because they are awesome.

The Baron stuff was good, but I can't really say I sympathised with him or his wife at the end. The daughters though, yes.

Edit: sorry for off topic and any spoilers :(

I agree. I think that any and all story-based DLC content in Inquisition should involve the Inquisitor. I don't want to play as any NPC characters. As much as I love Hawke, I don't want to play her either. Now, if we can rescue the character from Weisshaupt or wherever then hey great, but I want my Inquisitor to be the one to take charge of the mission, along with any companions that remain.

For those that even care, this would also allow people to actually get more use out of the extra gear looted from Jaws of Hakkon. You get new armor and weapons, but if you saved the game as a post-campaign mission then you basically have nothing left to do with it.

Great. I'm only interested in playing my inquisitor and further developing him as a character. :)

Well, you can always run around your place and show it off to the companions that presumably have not ditched you yet and stolen your furniture.

... I want my throne back, you short bastard!

I'm glad that was a false alarm. Unless we're going to play as Hawke or the Warden (unlikely) I don't want to start playing as a new character again. I'm getting worn out of resetting my friendships and my character's knowledge and development each installment. My Inquisitor might be my least favourite protagonist of the 3, but I'd much prefer to develop her character than start from scratch again.

Well, good to see this has been cleared up.

Its unlikely we will see DAI DLC announcements at E3, but I hope we get one anyway, if only to put rumors to rest and give us something new to talk about.

Randomly collected rocks would have had more intelligence than the people on that panel. I doubt they'd know if there head was on fire let alone who we'll be playing as in the next DA DLC.

And for the other debate, well I like Witcher 3 just fine, but would still prefer, if given the choice to create more own character.

Can we kill her at the end?  Need to fix that little oversight in the story...

Maybe we're Solas and it's ending related.

I do hope it's plot related, not more filler.

Edit: N/M, saw the "False Alarm."

I can think of several "Saturday morning cartoons" that are extremely mature, and very good. A good portion of the DC animated universe, for example. Especially, Justice Lords and the arc it inspired in JL. Or Mask of the Phantasm. Which is very ironic since the poster you're responding to has Harley and Ivy, which originally came from Batman the Animated Series.

Robotech was another mature 'Saturday morning cartoon'. So much so that there was a lobby to take it off the air.

The poster you're replying to should probably remember cartoons have been redefined in the past several years.

What about the other questline where a mentally ill man was killing elves because he believed that demons were forcing him too? That was very well-done, even more so than the Quentin storyline.

The best part of that quest.

Hawke: Oh don't be so dramatic.

I don't think you actually listen to his reasons of why he wants to become a god if you think that.
