Bioware I am sorry, I thought your support was good but it looks like you guys are sitting there doing nothing. You are just hiding and do not even appear to be interested in solving customers problems.
Such a shame.

Honestly, it's been less than a week since they launched ME2.

Technical issues on PC vary due to all the different kinds of hardware - As such, developers have a tough time trying to make their software compatible. This takes time. They will also need more time in order to come up with solutions to problems that did not appear on their own testing rigs.

Before you blame EA or BioWare, you should try displaying a bit of patience. There are plenty of solutions to problems already - If your problem has not been fixed yet, please address it again, instead of flaming.

From my own experience working in the games industry, launch troubleshooting is a HUGE thing. They had EVERYBODY up in the office all day working their asses off to file and attempt to fix as many bugs as they possibly could to match the submission rate. And this was an upstart developer that had launched a single game before.

EA's always been extraordinarily smug in their financial security, and this is what allows them to get away with bloody murder in broad daylight. If they can shell out the money for draconic DRM systems and date-check software that causes cascading failures in their release schedule, they can shell out some extra cash to put their most competent QA people in the office for a few extra hours to ensure customers don't feel like they're being given the finger.

Oh wait, it's EA. What the hell do they care what customers want? :P

BTW, I wouldn't necessarily put any blame on Bioware. They're a developer. EA is the publisher. So far as I'm apprised, Bioware is not responsible for the most critical errors in ME2's release. Or at least I don't think they are; I haven't even gotten to see the main menu yet, so I can't comment on the gameplay.

Um, yes... not even FOUR DAYS have passed, and they are supposed to read minds and listen to vague accusation from ignorant, angry, forum posters.

If you want to be taken seriously... less stupidity, more wisdom.

I have my own share of problems with the game so far, but they are minor compared to what could have been. The original has a *ton* of little things... this one has only oe or two.

I think there QA team is not coming up with good ideas to solve the issues. If they would have been following good software development practices they would not have these issues.

They could have moved the forums to the social network a few months earlier.

Tested with a small number of test accounts to resolve the issues with delivery and redeeming.

Tested, let us say with totally unrelated (non-connected, non-developer) people for the installation and other issues for all the platforms.

It seems they just burned the CD's which are not completely tested, I mean people have to copy the CD's on drive to install the ME2. There lots of small things you can observe that speaks volumes about the QA testers and teams in Bioware.

They have no test plan or it is based on very small number of test cases.

Overall purpose of alpha and beta phases is to solve these issues. I still think they need improvements in there testing department.

For network congestion issues they could have projected the load before hand from number of pre orders and diverted traffic to specific servers.

I mean to say that there should be plan , it looks like they solve issues as they occur.

Wow. Sounds like they should hire you. I know I wish they did; then we could be yelling at you when we didn't get our TOR on time.

@johnnag There is one simple solution to all your problems.

Buy an Xbox and play the game the way it's meant to be played!

I refuse to believe that you honestly know what you're talking about. BioWare is one of the most respected developers out there, and you can be more than sure that they have betatested on several PC-rigs, as well as every console platform available.

PC problems persist because of the diversity of hardware that has to be compatible - It would be virtually impossible to test ME2 on all possibly compatible PC-setups available.

Stop complaining and explain your actual problem.

The issues faced regarding configurations are totally OK. They can be expected. But come on they have half backed installers, broken DLC. These are not related with machines they could have been solved in earlier stages.

I'm not following you. I've seen some problems regarding steam, as well as some problems with the digital download versions - These are often caused by a glitch in the transfer between the server and the client and have nothing to do with the development of the installation software. You should know this, given how you keep ranting.

Haven't had any DLC issues, and so I haven't tried to keep up-to-date about it. I still don't understand what the actual problems you're referring to are. The issues you mention are very unspecific - and as such, impossible to fix for anyone.

I've noticed that while playing in 1920x1200 that the game freezes on the loading between scenes, a simple but less than tasteful lowering of my resolution to 1400x900 and running in window mode seems to have resolved the issue but remains slow. Some of you may have confused the issue of ' Freezes while loading' with an issue that prevents you from starting the game. I can start and play, but at the end of a 'mission' or when the game needs to load the next area I got a freeze, I would suggest to those of you that can't start the game to attempt lowering the resolution and try again

I forgot to mention they have collector or DDE edition installers with no bonus content. This is totally crazy.

I expect that issues related with game crashes or some other in game issue are hardware dependent issues, but other issues have nothing to do with client configuration and these are the issues currently causing more trouble.

I believe this would be more appropriate in it's own thread. This thread is clearly a flame/discussion thread, and your post seems to be more directed towards an actual troubleshoot ;)

These issues should been fixed before hand (proactive approach) rather then taking a reactive approach.

This will be my last reply to your rants.

Problems that only appear post-release cannot possibly be handled pre-release. This would be obvious to anyone. If your only purpose with this thread is to flame BW/EA, I'm going to report it for not belonging in a Tech Support forum.

Johnnag -

Issues related to hardware configuration and the inability of certain hardware to run the game or incompatibility with certain hardware are all to be expected.

However, I can't even LAUNCH the game due to this persistent 'Misconfiguration Error' issue which doesn't seem to want to go away. This has everything to do with the publisher (in this case, EA) regarding PC releases with a laissez-faire attitude that results in critical oversight and poorly planned out copy-paste solutions. Now granted, I realize that other people are actually able to play the game [people who have PIRATED the game have been happily playing it since Monday without a single issue, as I am told] and very few if any people are having the problem I am having. The fact of the matter is that my issue - and the issues you appear to be experiencing, as listed in your previous post - is not Bioware's responsibility (not actually completely sure on the DLC rigging; that may be their bad after all, but I wouldn't know). Having been monitoring this forum from several hours prior to the 10 AM PST 'unlock' deadline, the majority of non-glitch issues in ME2 are a direct failure on Electronic Arts' part.

Look - the reason many bugs even exist in PC games is because they simply can't test for them. Nearly everyone's system is unique and could react differently to a program. They do not have the time or money to test the game on every possible hardware configuration that exists. Nobody does.

You're just going to have to be patient.
