Why is logic being wasted on this guy? He pulled a lazy-ass "we're disappointed in you" speech to a gaming company, for crying out loud.

Well, I just wanted to clarify that aside from stuff like people floating into space when taking cover or being unable to use the 'Use' key after a certain cinematic, all of this DRM-related, installation-related, and activation-related crap is pretty much all EA's fault.

By the way, sorry for the double-post, but it should be clarified that Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 are NOT substantially tested on PC platforms. They run the majority of their testing on consoles (XBox 360, in this case) and then do a few copy-and-paste port operations to bring it to PC. Hence the keyboard layout and all of the errors people are encountering here. From a simple haptics perspective (and only judging by other people's posts since I can't actually play the game), a control rig this poorly adjusted would take only a single PC tester to point out and source up a fix for.

However, one should never fall into the false belief that "if it was an issue before release it'll be fixed by release." For one particular game project I was involved, in, we had a list of unfixed issues 5,000 entries long going into launch...
