Lately I've been thinking how cool it would be to play an online version like World of Warcraft of Dragon Age. Following the story line of the previous games.

Been able to pick your race, side and ability for example a Qunari Mage from Ferelden there for you do Ferelden quests and Tevinter etc are your enemies.

Having a complete massive map to explore and maybe some new areas we have not heard of before.

more specs for different characters. more magic. and more creatures and quests.

Race and nationality specific Armor and Weapons taking the look of that.

I would love a game like this!

Does anyone else have any ideas like this? Add on to this post and lets hope for the future.

I think you're the only one who would want this.

On the other hand, I can't think of a better way to sink the franchise. If that's your aim.

Prepare to have your thread assaulted.

As for me, I wouldn't have a problem with this if it didn't decrease the overall quality of the franchise. Unfortunately, I don't think it would happen that way.

Nope. Never. Just compare Skyrim to TES online.

They already have SWTOR to pump them MMO money and besides, DAI already plays like an MMO. Just pretend all the companions are real people.

Can we not have DA - the MMO?

I wouldn't mind an optional co-op compaign though. I'll be interested to see how Sword coast legends does that.

When I heard of Multiplayer for DAI I was hoping for some sort of guest help with friends for storymode stuff. But it wouldn't have made sense considering their past with ME multiplayer.

Would have loved to be able to control someone's character but they still have the random conversations. Or on my end, use the appearance of my character but on their end, looks exactly like their companion. Maybe too overpowered but I'd think its fun.

I still hope they expand the MP to hopefully doing a co-op side story or atleast different type of co-op missions

It's called Star Wars: The Old Republic.  And it's spectacular in its mediocrity, both from a story-telling perspective and a gameplay perspective.  If the next game is Dragon Age: The MMO, I'm dropping the series forever.  DA:I was pretty decent from a "happily ever after" perspective, I can live without having to wait for enough nugs to respawn so I can collect 10 nug skins to see the next bit of story.  I've tried playing SW:TOR 3 times and every single time it has bored me stupid.

It wouldn't have what makes a DA game...well, a DA game.

I really like making choices as a character, and getting to see my impact on the world. No doubt that even in an MMO format, Bioware could probably pull off telling a cool story, but half the allure of the franchise would be gone for me.

It's the same reason I put very little care towards things like combat in this franchise. Some of the games do it better than others (in my opinion), but ultimately, I'm not playing a DA game to fight monsters; I'm playing it to get to meet interesting characters and watch how the choices I make affect those around me.

So if they found it a worthwhile venture and a lucrative one, well more power to them. It's unlikely I'd be playing it though.

Uh, has there ACTUALLY been a DA game where you've gotten to SEE your impact on the world?  Nearly all impact has consisted of epilogue slides or, in DA2, letters along the lines of "thanks for not killing me, Hawke!".  There were SOME carry-overs BETWEEN games but they were all trivial.

The idea of follow-up exists more in the heads of the fanbase than in anything Bioware has actually produced.

I'm not really thinking of hugely dramatic, world shaking impacts. Little ones. In Orzammar, depending on which king you back, the merchant Legnar will change his commentary towards you. In DA2, depending on whether or not you help out Keran the templar affects whether or not a mission will be available in a later act. Selling Aveline's husband's sword will cause her to make a snide comment about it in a discussion in Act 3. In DAO, if you pick pocketed from the Dalish, there was a cutscene you'd get where you were confronted. There are other little things as well, though those are some of the ones that stand out the most for me. Impact doesn't have to be as drastic as saving the world or ending it - just seeing what the people say to you depending on your choices can be interesting. At least to me.

If you want to see Bioware crash and burn then....yeah.

But how about no? TESO is complete garbage and tarnishes the TES name. Let's not ruin the DA franchise

I don't think Winged Silver was talking specifically about things carrying over between games, but also about impacts within one. And you can bet that a potential MMO would suck in that aspect too.

BioWare already has one disaster of an MMO on their hands, if even the name recognition of Star Wars and the check book of EA can make people interested in an MMO, then maybe people should take note

MMO? No.

Optional Co-Op? Depends heavily. If that optional Co-Op was in Origins I'd have passed on it. Inquisition onwards? I'd play it.

If they're going to expand into multiplayer further I'd rather they actually play to their strengths and try to make story co-op a thing.

Generally I'm fond of single player and not keen on mmo gameplay. But a coop story option ala baldurs gate? I'd happily try that.

Sure why not, their already halfway there with DA:I, if going all the way its just lacking the things people actually find fun with MMO's.
