Also like quarian bumbums, once barriers/shields are penetrated, they die.
Well, Tali didn't worry, did she?

She worried a lot actually. And got sick despite all her preparations.
Does anyone remember Tela Vasir from ME2/Shadowbroker DLC? She had a barrier on top of armor on top of health.
Our kits should work similiar to that. Health protected by armor (if they wear it), protected by shields, protected by a barrier (if they have the ability). A Justicar would have 3 bars while a Fury would only have 2. Krogan Vanguard would have 4.
Shields and barriers regenerate, armor does not. Health stays as it is.
Sounds more realistic to me.
There was an armour system in ME1 as well, as I recall. It basically acted as DR on health damage taken.
Also the difference between shields and barriers is that you cannot use shields as an offensive weapon.

Neither can you use the barriers the biotics use instead of shields. You have to have the Barrier ability... which means all the biotics who don't have it are using shields that pretend to be barriers.
ME1 went way overboard with DR, immunity, shield recharge, health regen etc. In the higher levels you were almost invulnerable and definitely unstoppable.
Your main game play difference is that Geth Prime death explosions will not deplete your barriers whereas they will take away your shields.
I've been playing this game for a year and a half and this is new information to me.
Shows how unobservant I am! Given how many times various characters have been near Prime explosions in that timespan.

Unless of course you're a phantom that says **** all game mechanics.

Always something new to learn. Glad I could help.
One I get an allergic reaction rash to one. Why I prefer Barriers myself. Or better yet, nothing.
Shields and Barriers are like Quarian bum bums. Once it's exhausted, it's easier to penetrate. Drill rounds are recommended

No. I don't know about where they're hit but Reegar is shot and lives just fine. Tali's shot twice and basically shrugs it off both times with a mild fever. My MP quarians talk about their soup approximately 50 times per game because I like to live dangerously, and they're fine, though I don't get shot in the arse much because running away from bullets is for cowards.
Just inject some antibiotics and keep dishing out the righteous lead, fire, electric and ice based hate and discontent. Also giggity.

You missed the joke.
Lolpainal.
nope, my post allows for creepy innuendo as always. There's a poop tube stuck up there at all times so it's not like we aren't well used to it as is.
A knight darts into the foe, and a baker... makes bread.
I miss the "use SMGs to take out shields" mechanic of ME2 sometimes, but then I get over it.
A knight "needs" armor, while a baker "kneads" dough.
Also, while the "rapid fire against shields" technically isn't in ME3, due to shield gate, it's still preferable over a slower weapon. And vice versa, due to armor damage reduction per hit... in a way it's kind of still represented. Just like how Barrier powers in ME1-2 were a temp boost to max shields instead of Damage Reduction.
