It's normal. It can vary by area, but the game in general is very aggressive in how it deals with character loading (and Skyhold has a lot of loading zones).
thanks again for your answer. I was worried for a bit. (You can tell I'm paranoid about my new rig...hahaha). Glad it's normal (well, you know what I mean ![]()

Skyhold sometimes doesn't even load fully for me half the time if I have anything else open in the backround. But meh, doesn't really bother me.

Yeah, I'm getting used to the situations with this game. It finally works in SLI, so that's why I started it up (I bought it on release day and couldn't play it until recently). I just want to make sure the game is performing as intended. I think it must be. There's just a bunch of little things that bother me. I can get used to them though

With the trend to make multiprocessor SLI compliant video cards now far from infancy, there is no excuse to ignore SLI. Many video cards have built in SLI or its equivalent to cope with the additional A/V needs, not just top end anymore, and thus a large percentage of PC users may have SLI or its equivalent. Nearly every patch has been a challenge that flies in the face of quality assurance.
I think the random nature of the errors in skyhold is a problem, but have been busy on other projects.
Have one now that that so reminded me of DAI; the developer is trying to develop a character that spontaneously works with you through the quests in a more conversational mode, but used only 2 mods to establish compatibility (Skyrim) -you guessed it many of us have over 100 mods -no doubt there are conflicts and it has been like walking through a field of landmines again, but in this case a team is responsive and takes reasonable recommendations. Unfortunately, modding like this is like black ops -no one knows what others are doing. Maybe that's the attraction? Trying to repair a failed module w/o knowing what it does is quite a challenge.
Good luck
