I usually play the game on loot drop until the end. I built this bow using tier 3 crafting materials so you can build better. Hissing waste has the Mastercraft Spiked Bow Schematic given to you in a tomb quest. I bought the thick grip from merchant Emprise Du Lion.

Here is what I built:

201 dps

146 damage

+32 damage vs. living

21% Critical

36% Critical Damage Bonus

+14 cunning (lurker hide I think)

+12 Heal on Kill

Gain 3 Guard on hit.

I opened up on a dragon using full draw and hit it with 9800 damage. I also made my arms/foot wear to go with the prowler suit. Didn't invest much but most point are in Cunning and Dex.

That is not even the best bow or the best materials. You need to be careful with over crafting. I really noticed a big difference in the dragon fights after crafting something nice. I have seen much better stuff on you tube.

Yeah, its a pity since the crafting in the game is pretty fun, one of the best crafting systems I have seen.

However, its so broken it really hurts my experience if I craft.

I think the best answer is to just use level 1 materials... Then at least you still get some excitement when you pick schematics.

Yeah only tier 1 materials sound like a good balance.

I can recommend a solo run for more challenge. Besides, it's not like we have custom tactics for companions anymore <_<  Solo combat is quite fun, not as good as a full party with custom tactics in Origins and DA2, but it's okay and more difficult (less frustrating) than saving the AI companions in Inquisition.

Miss the banter though.
