There really isn't that many options to create ugly. What i do is often take my characteristics and add them to the character. From the color of my eyes, the scar representing my poor eyesight, the longer sideburns representing my usually unkempt hair, the small amount of facial hair to represent my barely there facial hair, etc. My character as a whole though is a lot better looking then the real thing since he can bare those characteristics without the downsides.

 

I often do that with my canon characters as well. They have some of my features (hair/hair colour, light freckles, eye colour, pale skin, scars, etc.), but not my overall facial structure. Like an idealized version of myself!    It's much better that way.

 The eye looks a tad small in the blended image, but it's all on the angle. In-game, they really aren't.

Here's my attempt.. I tried, but still not 100% similar. My hair and eyes are a VERY dark brown but not black, but I could not replicate that in game  The nose should have been a little larger too, realized after I quit. Damn huge nose. XD

Okay, so this is the first time ever I've created myself in a game because I never do that and I definitely wouldn't ever play with a copy of myself. I used very little makeup, since in real life I usually favor more natural look over "war paint". Also my hair is way, way longer from the back but I saw no reason to mod my game just to get longer style for the pic.

I thought it would be a cool idea for people to use the CC to create themselves. Mostly because I'm curious to see what people here look like. So, show us yourself as a Trevelyan (or Cadash, or Lavellan, or even Adaar) 

 

This would be me, Misha Trevelyan (though I probably should have gone with an elf, except I don't have large pointy ears in real life)
