...The Geth Juggernaut, is there any point to light melee?
Is it not better just to, as it were, skip the foreplay and get hammered right in there?

Batarian light melee is like swinging a baseball bat, how can you not love that when taking out your most hateful enemy? (whatever that may be)
Fair enough!
I have a nasty habit of losing track of the enemy who's lights I'm trying to knock out though when using light.
Phantoms and turrets, since you asked ![]()
I never use the light melee on the Jugg, am I missing something? Either way, LM is good for a quick kill if the enemy is low health/right next to you/clip is empty. Otherwise, only if it's the final enemy and I just wanna play with them a bit.
Vorcha light melee chains. Satisfaction guaranteed.
Quick stagger. Useful sometimes to prevent a mook from firing. Also, the triple light melee combo is fun and looks badass.
AIU Light melee : Go down kickboxing a Brute.
KroLord light melee : FOUR!!!!!!!!! I am so close to nailing a husk to the other side of the Glacier cavern in the LZ/EZ
Paladin : Beach slapping phantoms.
It gives you quick stagger, so helpful in elbowing the Marauder before he does the same to you a lot of the time. On the only melee kit I play (QFI). It's often faster to quickly just elbow weaker health units to death than using sabotage> Heavy melee on them, plus it causes hilarious ragdolls.
You get DR from it on a lot of kits as well, which is situationally useful.
What Loufi and QMR pointed out, it's a quick stagger - usefull when swarmed by phantoms, their melee swings do a lot of damage on him, combine that with a couple of preatorians doing their laser thing etc - it's a good and quick attack to stagger mooks and phantoms close by to get into cover.

I still want to try this. But my PS3 is holding out on the Shotgun Omniblade. And if I can't go heavy enough on the melee, I'm not going to bother. Patience is a Virtua.
Vorcha light melee chains. Satisfaction guaranteed.
Cabal has 'em too. Where I first discovered the fun in this quick light melee style.
sort of the panic mode waiting for charge to cooldown on the slayer.
Smash Bros light melee is under-rated.
A bit of taser zap/jab with some solid CC ability.
yes, the ability to be CC'd during the slow wind up of the quick melee
Huge DR for the Slayer.
Krogan headbutts have better DPS than backhands, versus armor.
Volus cloak.

Love that quick light melee too. Especially the Drell version.
Fell in love with it early on in the Silver days. Went face-to-face vs a Phantom on FB Ghost. My DrellDept went drum solo on her mother-effing melon and kept her in stun-lock the entire time. Was like Keith Moon mixed with Neil Peart mixed with Animal from The Muppets (and Electric Mayhem fame).
Krogan light melee is awesome because headbutts.
Drell light melee is awesome because roundhouse kicks.
Batarian light melee: clubbing enemies in the head with your gun is awesome.
Slayer light melee is very effective.
Fury light melee actually works surprisingly well.
Cabal and Vorcha light melee are similar and very effective.
Collector light melee can be fun too and especially effective against husks/aboms. Also very entertaining to use while in hard cover.
sometimes I like the drop the bass with the collectors light melee.
Pistol Melee Stunner: Actually has a mini-stun effect. Applied to some light melee combos, you can effectively permalock smaller foes into a combo until they die.
Vorcha vs Marauder = Marauder never gets to strike back. ME EAT YOUR SHIELDS!
Also has the added benefit of being able to use a Power Amp (and shorter cooldowns than the Shotgun Omni-Blade) as well, making for a wonderful hybrid Power/Melee unit.
Also, Krogan Light Melee makes you move faster with the Pizza. Combat Utilty headbutt.

Collector light melee also primes for BE.
