Fine you can call Qun Nontheistic religions. it's still don't change fact what world still go on without chantry, just fine.

Yeah, but I don't think Thedas really wants to exchange the Chantry for the Qun. Not the best bargain, that.

Yes because like I said.

Religion is I know.

Science is I don't know and want to know.

Well, religion is mostly believe (even if there's no evidence for it).

While science is meticulous search for knowledge/facts and that excludes blind, religious faith. It's not that those two can't exist alongside one another, especially if faith doesn't interfere with scientist's work. But being scientifically-minded - skeptical, used to do exhaustive research, in need of concrete evidence... such mindset has a tendency to erode faith, to a significant degree at least.

I'm not on either side of the barricade though, at least when it comes to extremes of both positions. I myself am an agnostic atheist and I would prefer if people didn't follow religion like sheep, but I get that it's sometimes hard to let go of cherished beliefs, nor I hold it against people for being religious (as long as they're reasonable about it, I guess - though being reasonable doesn't just apply to religion).

Not the biggest fan of Nathan Grayson, I find a lot of his articles to be off-base, and this one is also no exception because the thesis feels like it's actively looking for a statement, where none is really given.

Authorial intent notwithstanding, I will say this, people kind of know what to expect in both games in terms of how they push their fantasy, and both games offer a fair portrayal of gender and sex, both positively and negatively, all the time. So this is a case where this article doesn't really need to be written, we all kind of get it I feel.

You could toss Calpernia into that category IF you don't do her "under her skin" sidequest which reveals some pretty traumatic details about her backstory.

Meredith also did a lot of despicable things. Sure, she's got a backstory that explains why she's so paranoid, but that hardly excuses the way she let the mages of Kirkwall be treated even before she went coocoo bananas because of the red lyrium.

Same with Grace of the Starkhaven Circle, depending a bit on Hawke's decisions. (Look, lady, I'm sorry you got recaptured by the Templars, but I did everything you asked of me, including killing the one that came to get you! I have been consistently pro-mage freedom for seven years! So why the hell did you kidnap my sister and try to kill me?!)
