My first plat game was with the Asari Huntress against Collectors on London. It was with randoms and we extracted! My next 3 plat games were all massive failures!

I stood mystified after watching 2 juggs hold everything coming towards the LZ. Tbh I remember thinking to myself 'this aint fun'. Thankfully I was a slasher and had my fix by lashing smaller reaper peasants.
On a side note, my first gold game was a gip wave 11 dagger. It was one of my first few games and was actually searching bronze. Lol I remember I was trying to make my way to the lz and kept sticking to cover. They had all gone done and were shouting at me to use a rocket. 'Rocket?'.
So after overdosing on ops packs, thermal packs, and a medi-gel button that didnt work, I finally hit it and extracted.
Long live the scrubs!

After that it was back to gold, where i stayed until Kittenpuncher started dragging my scurby a$$ throught plat games.
Change "Kittenpuncher" to "ark".
Now you got my story ![]()

I joined what I thought was a silver gip so I could level my engineers up a bit and when wave one started, I happened to get the first kill. Instead of hitting the square button to reload, I accidentally hit start instead and saw that I was actually in a platinum game.
The smart thing to do in this situation would of course be to nope the hell out of there, but being a complete idiot I decided to stick around and see how far I could get...
My GE was level 15/16 and was equipped with level 1 gear, my teammates had basic weapons, never gelled and kept running into enemies but somehow we made it to wave 4.
The highlight of the game was getting hate mail because my GE was pink!

Operation Lodestar. I was Silver Pugging to get my banner, and I ran into 2 BOTBs doing the same thing.
They asked me and the other guy what kits we had. The BOTBs had everything, I had the Volus Engineer, and the other guy was Puggernauting it up.
... soooo they taught us the back room camp on Glacier. I admit it. My first Platinum games were camping. But still! At least I didn't jump in expecting to be carried! I remember it clearly since one of them kept calling me Ravioli because he looked at my name and went "**** it."

Lol are you calling me a scrub?! Sir!
... Idk, probably needed to extract or weak team or some other excuse.
No chance. I was suffering from the brain-freezing shock of meeting a Praetorian up close on wave 1 for the first time, and was obviously taking the general 'don't camp' advice a bit too literally. It's also fair to say you were indeed with a weak team. I'm a bit better now, most of the time anyway. ![]()

I was looking for either Bronze or Silver, and I ended up in a missile glitch Platinum game.
I've not once been able to sit through an entire Platinum missile glitching session. Came close once, but that's about it. So I can never figure out how some folks can stand such boring grinds in any videogame in general. Not saying it's wrong, just not for me.

Wow, really? Because this GiP missile glitching game pretty transformed my understanding of ME3MP, and life in general. I never went back to the normal grind of powers and guns and stuff. I even stopped using powers in my daily life. Anything I can't solve with a missile launcher isn't worth solving.
I bail on any lobby without at least two destroyers sporting the correct loadout.

I remember once when I literally basically started my PS3 account and could count the amount of matches I've done on one or two hands. Anyway, pugs looked to be pretty much in the same boat as me dps wise. But the host ninja'd it's to Platinum without anyone of us knowing. Or at least me. Anyway. It was Collectors Ghost Hazard. And to this day I still have no idea how we made all the way to wave 8 or 9 with the pitiful combined team dps we had. Not to mention how bad the memory leak started to get around the half way mark. Surprised it didn't freeze before we finally wiped. But it made for one heck of memorable match. My love for PS3 pugs started there.

Should play sometime - you can carry me, I'm guessing I'd be somewhat rusty. XD

My first time was camping the old Glacier room of shame, before they blocked it off. My job was to be the Slayer spamming Biotic Slash through the corner of the walls toward the LZ ammo box all game. Boring, except when we had to go out of the box, to do the missions. Objectives and a couple of drone escorts, iirc.

I don't remember my first Platinum game, but I believe my first Platinum extraction was as Asari Adept on Vancouver, vs Collectors if I'm not mistaken.
Difficult game, but very fun. Platinum's early days were very enjoyable because there were very few bona fide experts who could run through it easily, and most of the lame kits were less understood as they are today.

Damn, it was quite the experience. As many others already brought up, sometimes you end up in a Platinum lobby, whilst you're searching for a quick Silver game. I used my custom LeBron James Novaguard build - basically, a Claymore Novaguard - and I landed in a GIP. Little did I know, it was set to Platinum. To make matters worse, it was Collectors on Firebase Jade.
Mind you, I did not check to see the difficulty or anything. I just proceeded to find stuff, and kill it. Well, I tried to kill stuff. The Aboms were fine, and I dealt with them quickly. Then, I started to notice how I could barely kill a Captain...let alone, a Possessed one. It was around this time, when I got confronted by a huge Praetorian. Of course, I did not have any equipment on. I was searching for a Silver game. I could not put a dent into the Praetorian. The thing lunged at me, took down my barriers, and attempted to sync kill me. Luckily, a Scion ended the animation right on time. I gelled, nuked the remaining enemies, and that was wave 1.
This would be the time, when I checked the difficulty. Because, I got a run for my money on wave 1. That never happens on Silver. I checked. Jup, Collector/Jade/Platinum. To make matters worse, there was only one Platinum-ready player with us. The other two noobs were a Puggernaut and some sort of chubby little s*** spamming Shield Boost. Long live Platinum Pug matches. We wiped early on wave 4 or 5, I believe. So much death on the wave 3 hack. It was one hell of an intro into Platinum. I will never forget that game.

Gold lobbies were hard to find that day, and I was feeling confident. Can't recall what class it was but it didn't matter. I spawned into the Jade LZ surrounded by Collectors while the host was trying to solo devices. I was dead before I could move; gelled, took a step, died again; gelled again, took two steps, died again; the host actually left his device to revive me, but it didn't matter because I only managed one more step before dying again. I gelled again, died again, and quit, shellshocked.

We got London. I can't remember the faction.
There was a lot of screaming and laughing. But much more screaming. It was hilarious how all we knew went out the window because omg banshees and phantoms and primes altogether it seemed.
I think I had been at the rum too
We managed to get to wave 8.

I do however remember clearly of my first semi-Platinum game, when we failed the weekend challenge, and Banshees started to pop up randomly on Geth and Cerberus Gold games, that was ****** awesome! Especially those PUG reactions... most of them had no idea what the **** was going on.

Nostalgia!
I actually remember my first plat matches quite vividly as I had just joined the Alliance Hazard group.
Needless to say I was quite excited when I received an invite from one of the group officers, Emerald Phoenix.
1st match was Reapers/Hydra. I recall this match as the first time I maxed out my medals on the leaderboard. Normally this would be a positive but as a player new to platinum I was concerned that this may make it appear I actually know what I'm doing. ![]()
2nd match was Reapers/Jade. This I remember for teaching me one of the most valuable and yet unspoken skills in the game. When not to kill!
Wave 10, we get devices.
I'm playing an infiltrator. I hear Emerald: "Razer, you got duration cloak?" Yes I do. Emerald: "Do your thing."
So by the time I cap the 2nd device, two players are down. As I run to the 3rd device I can see Emerald at the far end of the map and he has the whole spawn on top of him.
I'm expecting a missile at any time now, but no. 3rd device done, I'm on my way to the last device, still no missile.
Finally, last device done, my hand stops shaking and BOOM! Thanks to Emerald and his experience, the easiest devices ever! ![]()
Ironic that my first two plat matches would be some of the smoothest games ever, I often wonder if some noob has missiled that spawn on wave 10, just how badly those last two devices may have been.

My first Platinum match was a couple months before Operation Lodestar. It was with my two regular friends, we picked up a 4th pug and off we went.
Although we didn't think it through as we went U/R/P, and got Condor. Ugh! The lack of ammo was a real eye opener and caused some problems,
I was using my Vsol, my brother was using his Batsol / Harrier (and this caused problems as he was continually out of ammo), I forget what our 3rd friend was using, the pugling was using a level 12 Krogan Adept.
We ended up being pushed back and holding the starting spot out of necessity. We actually made it to wave 10, when we got devices and wiped on one of the troll device locations in the middle of the map.
Still, it was alot of fun, and gave us the confidence to do it again, and thus began Rio / Reaper / Platinum matches with holding the back of the ship. Our normal group composition was 2 - 3 GT/Flamer builds and an infiltrator with a sniper rifle ... ahh the good old scrubby days!
