oh man, this brings up some real nostalgia.

first plat match I had was with the first group of folks I started playing with who mainly played silver and gold. we went with reapers/rio, I was scrub back then and went with a TGI w/ PPR. we camped the cage/fenced area in the back corner because of some weird strat I guess, cannot remember what it was but it didn't work too great. barely made it to wave 10 I think but we still finished the objective before we all promptly died.

feels like forever ago.

Oh, my first Platinum game. I played with a very good Aussie team (used to live in Australia back them) led by MatuAbu.
I had played the game for about 200ish or 300 hours before ever stepping into Platinum, so I was already somewhat experienced and had a decent manifest. I remember using the Huntress and (iirc) the Carnifex with Warp Ammo. Not necessarily the greatest setup, but I was having a lot of fun with the Huntress back then and I felt pretty confident using her. I remember playing on White, Giant and Ghost, though I don't remember which one was the very first map. At the end of the match I came second on the scoreboard, so that was a massive e-peen booster  B)

I have played hundreds, maybe over a thousand Platinum games afterwards, but the first one we never forget.

It was my first game ever. I didnt realize what I was doing when I clicked "uknown challenge". I was a level 1 human vanguard and they realized I had no idea what I'd done and thought it'd be hilarious so they let me stay. It was Reapers/Giants. I died alot. A whole lot. And they just laughed and laughed all the way to extraction.

I remember thinking, man this wasen't really that hard!

Well, I did play lol-AIU with lol Reegar and Incindiary IV, kind of make things easy even for a first timer.

You know the end of "Saving Private Ryan"? When Private Ryan was huddled in a fetal position during the last firefight, his screams going unheard amidst the din of artillery and gunfire?

Yeah. It was kinda like that.

My first (unintentional) Platinum game was dropping into a GIP with a missile glitcher.  I decided not to help the glitcher and just run around the map like a crazy person.  It went OK until Wave 3, when the devices became a problem.  The other 2 PUGs died right away, and I was torn between wanting to get some easy credits and screwing the glitcher over.  I decided to get the easy credits, and then left the glitcher to himself again.  We didn't make it past Wave 4.

My first intentional Platinum game was a FBW Geth farming extravaganza.  It went really smoothly because the old FBW farming was easy, although the Banshee waves were a problem.  We got the Wave 10 credits and then everyone intentionally died.  I refused to do that and tried to put up a good fight.  I finally just cleared the wave by firing my 2 remaining rockets, and then everyone extracted.  They all kicked me after the game was over, because apparently playing to Wave 11 wasn't credit-efficient enough for them.  EDIT:  I believe I was playing a Justicar with the Talon.

I was looking for a lolsilver match (back when I had a weak manifest)and it put me in:

Reapers/giant/plat

I was a vorcha solder with a phaeston IV and phalanx VII

There was another vorcha solder, a juggy, and a demolisher. We camped the landing zone with the juggy in front Vader-ing every thing while me and the other vorcha spammed flamer and the demolisher sprayed-and-prayed  with a Typhoon I.

After many (all my) medi-gels and ops-packs we extracted.

I tried it out on the day platinum was released, I believe.  I dropped into a game in progress where the team camped down in the bottom of White versus Cerberus. I was a QMI with a Harrier II. We bled out in w10 post objective.

My first Platinum was for Lodestar.

I posted in a thread that someone had started to help non-platinum players get groups to do the challenge.  Except no one was actually helping us.  I ended up grouping with three other people who had never touched Platinum before.  We decided to go for Reapers first, and picked Giant, hoping to camp the control room.  Amazingly, it worked!  I was playing a Vorcha Soldier, there was a Justicar, I think a HEngie, and some kind of infiltrator.  We spent the whole match running circles around those two ramps leading from the control room into the room behind it with the ammo box.  I don't remember what the objectives were, but I do remember that we were inches from wiping on all three waves.

I was easily the worst player out of the four of us (I'd almost never even played gold yet at that point), but I do remember being left to clutch the wave 10 cleanup by myself.  4 panicked missiles, 3 ops packs, and 4 gels later, the enemies were dead, and we eventually managed full extraction.

Then we did the exact same thing for the other factions, though Cerberus and Geth didn't go nearly as well, and took multiple attempts each.  Looking back, trying to hold the line with that many Hunters and Pyros, or Phantoms, all in the room with us was probably a terrible idea!

I've tried the occasional Platinum pug since then, but I've almost never reached extraction without another BSNer in the match.  Specifically, FatherOfPearl.  I landed in his lobby 4 days in a row.  Plus, the Banshee/Praetorian/Phantom spam tends to bore me really fast since I mostly enjoy power-spamming classes.
