*is grateful*
I just don't get that anyone would approve/excuse Wynne's behavior at RtO. And I don't even own the DLC.
Thanks for jumping in though. I appreciate it

Well, Wynne is in my camp, and I've been actually having fun with the dialog. And amazingly, I seem to have turned off Leliana's romance for good -- I was actually going to try for another poetry readingShe is SO sneaky! Ninjalove when you least expect it for sure.
You have turned it off for good. Wow, the best kept secret in the game. My poor PCs can't seem to get it through her head. Maybe I should try an uninstall/reinstall. My girls can't keep Leliana from doing her ninja-love in any way, shape, or form.
Edited because it didn't belong here.

Having seen it once, i shall avoid bringing Wynne to Ostagar in the future. The only time it was enjoyable was when I spared Loghain and brought him too. Strangely, the only time I really like listening to Loghain is when he's putting Wynne in her place. It's quite satisfying.

And it's quite shocking how she falters. Amazing.

I don't dislike Loghain. It's too easy to hate him, though, if you don't bother trying to get to know him. And many people will not do that -- they hate the thought of betraying Alistair and therefore miss a very important part of the game. But I'll tell you, even making Alistair hate you is such an interesting part of the game. There's so much more there if you can keep in mind that it IS a game. I'm actually very impressed by the voice acting in the harsher choices -- just amazing.

I've only spared Loghain once, and probably won't do it again, because he is a pretty unrepentant bastard who still can't get it through his thick skull that he was wrong on so many fronts it's not funny. But, in that game, i did so because it was in character for mt PC to do so, and I did want to actually have the chance for an up close and personal interview and get a better view of what was going on in his head.
Killing Loghain, for me, has nothing to do with pissing off Alistair, for me. In fact, Alistair blowing his stack at the whole thing made me like him even more as a character, and further cemented my adoration for him. he was both wrong and right, and showed he did have a spine, but in true Alistair fashion, picked the worst possible time and reason to use it. That whole scene had a slight taste of Anakin Skywalkers fall from grace to it. It was wonderful. But I think I'm a very rare breed
Loghain's banter with dog is pretty heart breaking. His banter with Zevran made me laugh so hard that I made a save point before Wades so i could go in and out and get it again.
I don't hate Loggy, but I do still think he's a dangerous SOB, and for peace of mind, will continue to behead him in furture playthroughs. But I feel you need, for the sake of fullness, a playthrough where you do spare him and get to know him a bit better. It really does add to the whole game experience.

Oh do, CalJones. It is so very touching. Loghain and dog is a 'swallow hard'. But you don't have to take them to Ostagar, just have them in your party. Damn Orlesians, dammit.
Though dog and Loghain together in the party when you find Cailan's correspondece with Celene is priceless.
Loghain: "The ****!"
Dog: <angry bark>

Alistair might hate you, but he seems to come to grips with the choice if Loghain sacrifices himself. He's snarky and sarcastic, but a lot of what he says makes my PCs confident that he'll be a good king. He should've never walked away. That's betraying the GWs. and David explains that he is broken up over it and regrets it. So I do like to think that he will mature, and that he will understand and forgive his fellow GW. She will always be there for him, and she will rebuild the GWs with her one and only, Zevran.
if you dont sacrifice Loghain Alistair still pretty much hates you though he doesnt sound as angry as he did after the post landsmeet talk you can still tell by his tone of voice that hes seething his post corronation dialogue was pretty much "we have no thing to talk about, but how did you survive (insert awnser here) now go away your oh so adoring public wants to see you"

in my game he ended up admitting to me that he had alot of wrongs to make up for >_>

If Loghain lives and you talk to Alistair, he does express rather angry surprise that loghain is still alive and kicking, even though one of you should be dead,. That puzzles me, because, until Riordan tells you, you don't know how the archdemon was killed, and if loghain was around for the speech, Alistair by default is not. So how does he know "one of these things cannot be true"?
Still, his reaction is understandable, because if Loghain is alive, he hasn't properly payed for his crimes. Still, he gets over it. And like Gaider says, he regrets it alot, but really can't go back and undo it.

well at that point hes already getting messages from the orlesian grey wardens concerning how the archdemon was defeated and said letter most likley asked who died to slay the archdemon

Alistair falls into the same plot hole that Anora has already fallen in when she tells you that her father may not survive the joining.
At least this way they have company down there.

For a ritual that's supposed to be such a great secret, it seems everyone and their hamster in Ferelden knows what goes on. Everyone but Jory, Daveth, and the Warden, for that matter.

its just sad you will most likley never see Loghains banters unless you go out of your way to get them since the game pretty much nudges you to run off to redcliff after the landsmeet asap
Indeed. I downloaded the great squirrl mod just so I could listen to them. I like Loghain as a character, and wished they'd done the Landsmeet a bit earlier in the plot so we could have him around for the recuitment quests.

other than Anora who I can assume learned some stuff about the joining form Cailen because I wouldent be surprised if Maric told his son about it when he was younger (Maric learned about the joining from Duncan) who else really knows about the Joining? Wynn it could be assumed she helped prepare the ritual since Duncan does state he had the mages preparing for it
but who else knows about it (before anora open her big mouth)
Leliana mentions it in the dialogue with her when she gossips about your romance with Alistair, if you are doing so and select the option when she mentions you're glowing, and you say it must be a side effect of the joining. Zevran, at the end, seems to know in the epilogue where he says there are some bodily fluids even he won't touch when you invite him to the Wardens, though it's concievable that you told him. I think someone else in the game mentions it as well, though I can't remember which playthrough and which origin I was playing.
