I loved Riordan's take on what being a Grey Warden is all about. You can ask him about all kinds of stuff, but he tells you that in the end, none of it matters.

Riordans also a senior warden which means he knows alot more than little miss Wynn could ever hope of knowing about them (plus hes been to the Grey Warden HQ I bet meeting the anderfell wardens would shatter Wynns perfect image of them)

Riordan seemed to have more confidence in the Warden's ability as well.

What bugs me about that dialogue is that you can't point she doesn't have Grey Warden training, either.

Duncan pretty much tells you the same thing in the Mage Origin, if you ask him what Greagoir and Irving were arguing about (pass persuade check) and then ask his opinion.

Well, he also gimped the archdemon enough so that it couldn't fly around a lot afterward. Although I do agree, it was kind of silly to try and take it on like that. But then again, like the old cliche says: Desperate times call for desperate measures.



So, now Wynne knows all about GW training? Well, how very talented and knowledgeable she is. And there I thought she couldn't top herself. Silly me. /sarcasm

She's so wrong on so many fronts - it's not even funny. For starters - what Grey Warden training? Perhaps she's referring to certain Warden abilities? Little does she know that training has nothing to do with those. Only ONE mage warden at a time? Really, Wynne? My PC's little adventure at Soldier's Peak says differently. (I do love how Irving covers for your BM during that little confrontation during the Broken Circle questline - he can BS with the best of 'em.) And let's not forget that stop darkspawn at all costs even if it means sacrificing the few philosophy that is a stark contrast to her romantic ideals.

Ah yes, I remember that particular discussion with Wynne very well. She liked me a bit less afterwards...

But it's also a good example about the things that bug me in regards to the dialogue with her: Like Reaverwind says, we should be able to point out that she doesn't have any Warden training either - apart from some heroic hogwash she's picked up.

Another example is the dialogue that starts with:

"I must ask: What does being a Grey Warden mean to you?"

During this conversation the PC has the option of telling her that:

"I don't want power. I've never wanted it."

(which is what my characters usually say, because they want to be free, not powerful). This is followed by a lenghty lecture that starts with:

"If you live apart from others, and your actions affect only you, then you may do as you wish."

and goes on and on and on until she finally says:

"But I've lectured enough for today. I should stop before I wear out my welcome."

I mean, not that she's not right, because she definitely is wearing out her welcome, but why can't we say something to her along those lines? Why can't we interrupt her sermon about power and influence and ponds and drops and ripples? Why can't we tell her that yes, her constant lecturing is grating on our nerves?

I think I would like Wynne a lot more, if I had more dialogue options. Even if it would end with a tersely "I see" on her part and an approval loss.

@ Cuddlezarro to me today the same thing happened to me, you tried to give option 1, really telling you. That's always ALISTAIR.

Ah yes, Allerleihrau, this is probably the conversation where my PC tells her that 'many kings are tyrants', and she doesn't like it. I think she is trying to point out the differences between a tyrant and a king. Being called up on it doesn't sit well with her.

ok not only is Wynn a know it all shes also going senile when she was telling the story about how she set that boys hair on fire(yet she doesnt know any fire spells), I told her I would have done alot worse and then shes like "people have no love for witches like us"

Yes, that's the one. The option about kings and tyrants is an alternative to the "don't want power" option.
