Ouch. Lordy, could Wynne be more self-righteous? How does she know all this, was she Cailan's confidante? She knows better than Cailan's honor guard. Of course. Why am I not surprised.

What did surprise me is that she doesn't argue with Loghain about the possible plans of Cailan's regarding Celene. Interesting, that.

Knittzu, aren't you the famed author of "Jesus with the combat?" I never laughed so hard in my life. Congrats on your quick wit.

Yup, that was me.  I had an easy target.

To Zevran's obvious dismay. "But they're magically delicious!"

Oh no, Zevran is just jerking the queen of sanctimony's chain, because she gives him such a hard time about repenting for his assassin career.  My first Zevran romance, a city elf, loved him so much when she overheard that series of conversations.  The way he so deftly disarmed her and put in her place... brilliant.

*grin* There are always people who are going to take all of Zevran's flirting as serious -- if you decide he's a sleazy elf, then of course, there's plenty there to back it up. He does flirt, he loves flirting, and he's sharp, and he uses words, including flirtation, and a way of exposing chinks in the armor of others. Listening to all the Leliana banters, you can see it; he's not fooled one bit by her innocent act, and pokes at her over it. Seriously, this is the man who melted Morrigan on a bet -- he's not about to expect a bard to jump his bones after offering to "knock boots" with her to relieve her physical needs. Not that he wouldn't "knock boots" with her (and in fact may), but it's not like it's a serious attempt to seduce her!

generally what they should have done with wynn in the circle tower is her being stuck in a room with her being tied to a post and a saw on the ground. Giving her a Saw like escape... well death

Well, I would have settled for an option to fire her, just as I can fire everyone else (except Alistair, but that makes sense, him being a Warden and all). Why can't we just tell her to leave?!

You can leave her in the tower -- just tell her you don't want her following you around, nagging.  You only get this option, though, if you have her in the party when you fight Uldred.

Yes, I know, but I would have appreciated being able to tell her to leave, even after allowing her to accompany my group initially. After all, my character can't predict just how annoying she will be.

For example I'd really like to be able to fire her after her romance lectures. This way I wouldn't see her apology, of course, but quite a few of my PCs felt like giving her the boot after that, especially as they can't know what will happen at "+100 Love".

I wonder if it lists who wrote what. I would be interested in seeing who actually wrote the dialogues.

 Codex entry.

It doesn't specify exactly who wrote what.

The funny thing is. Though someone (I wont name names, the person is not in this thread anyway) insists that the RTO behaviour is a result of different writers, RTO lists as sole writer (besides the Lead Writer) Sheryl Chee in the credits, who also wrote Wynne.

Then again, I believe some people on the forum aren't worth having their posts read, regardless of how much they enjoy spouting their opinions as fact.

The thing is about RtO, the writing of certain characters seem designed to either annoy some people or change the way the character is actually viewed.  A female who is heavy into a romance with Alistair most likely will to be upset listening to blatantly sexual talk coming from Wynne, and the writers must have realized this.  Just like someone who is used to running with Zevran everywhere is going to be confused at his sudden support of the darkspawn and their trophy.

So I wonder if they're actually planning on changing the way these characters are viewed so they can change their direction so to speak in further expansions.  I really hope not.

Thanks, Melkathi.

That makes it all the worse, unless her lines were used wrong, although I can't see how that's possible. But seeing how RtO was seemingly slapped together so quickly and haphazardly, even Sheryl Chee is allowed to have an off 25 seconds or so. It couldn't have taken that much longer to write this unmemorable and strange piece of nonsense.

It is kind of sad, because I believe her to be a gifted writer.

ejoslin, if that's true then they can expect a certain amount of reader/player pushback. Once a character is out in the wild, a writer is no longer the omnipotent god they were during the writing process. That's my philosphical nugget of the morning.

Didnt you know Wynns  psychic and knows *everything!*

Loghains dialogue was far better than hers and Alistairs though expecially his reaction to Celenes letter

Thank you, Melkathi. That poster sounded so certain that I thought it was true but I just double-checked and sure enough... Sheryl Chee. Which really concerns me because I suspect that ejoslin is right and they are planning to significantly change those characters. Wynne, I could care less what they do with but I adore Zev and can't stand the thought of them taking him in the direction hinted at in RtO. I seriously shouted at my computer when I got that bizarre approval drop from him. It was just entirely inconsistent with everything else we've been shown about his character.

Allerleihrau, I suspect the reason we can't just tell Wynne to leave is the same reason we can't ditch Oghren without considerable effort -- they plan to inflict us on her in upcoming expansions and sequels. The more difficult it is to get rid of a character, the more likely it is we'll be seeing more of them. Which is bad news for those of us who love Zevran.

Hmmm, I must be thinking of the threads that discuss how difficult it is to *kill* Oghren. I don't know, I've never tried to kill him or asked him to leave.

I think that Wynne is a kind of abomination. If malevolent spirits can bond with people then I see no reason why more benevolent spirits would be unable to do so, provided that they're all of the same "thing" so to speak. From what we saw of them in the game, they seem to be more or less alike.

I'm sure they have more to this world than the "rules" say. The fact that Dwarves can enter the fade seems to be a clear example of this.

Who wrote the banter then? There are no other writers credited other than the Lead Writer.

Interesting, that. In more ways than one. I do hope they don't plan to mess with the Origin characters. If they do, then DA:O is it for me. I've developed my characters on my own. It's called RPing. I like it that way.
