I wonder how people in this thread feel about themselves, now that it has been revealed that we (the ones who don't like Wynne all that much) are "very negative people you would never let babysit your children" and some of us even ""self hating" people who consider anyone who tells them they are valued or to aim high to be carefully avoided".
While those who like Wynne are "generally quite happy/healthy/formidable/successful individuals who you'd love to "have your back" in a crisis".

I am looking forward to your apologies for being such miserable human beings

Another time I cannot stand Wynne is in the circle. First in her dream, how she berates you; it's unbelievable how she turns the blame of everything onto you. Then later, if you save Irving, how she is more than willing to take most of the credit for saving the circle, and in fact no one mentions your other two companions who are really more helpful than Wynne at that point.

This - so much this!   Her oh-so-dramatic "We found each other!!" to the Sloth Demon has me rolling my eyes so hard I'm seeing th back of my skull.   Bish, please - "we"?  You, a Circle mage for the last gazillion years, were sitting there drooling in your dream until I had to slap you out of it.  And yes, "I had help" to Irving.  Spare me.

Also how she expects the PC mage to be all "Rah-rah Circle."  Try telling her in camp that you don't miss that prison and her face goes all sour school-marm and approval drops big-time.  Still the exact same dialogue response, though, which would seem to nidicate she's truly only talkng for the sound of her own voice.

BTW, the thread title?  "Wynnie the Poo!"  ROTFLMAFAO!

Surreal doesn't begin to describe it. I'm practically speechless. I've to read that whole thing - maybe not. My ears might start bleeding again, in addition to my eyes.

This is why my elven blood mage keeps her in camp, for the morbid enjoyment of it.  And because she takes Morrigan on most missions so will make the grudging allowance that a mage needs to stay in camp and heal people if it's attacked.

Heh, too bad it's in a no-spoiler section. I'm just staying away from it for that reason alone.

The non-spoiler section is the only place Wynne has nothing to fear, and can freely spout her self-righteous, asinine platitudes. She stays in camp and can drink her wine and read her books. She can chat with Leliana until even Leliana's ears start bleeding.

Then she can talk to that entity in her. That one's trapped, and can't flee. Poor entity.

That warm enfolded feeling she describes is probably the sprit's feeble attempts to smother her.

I saw that too, melkathi, and wow... there are just no words.

In my current run I just finished destroying the Holy Ashtray without Wynne in my party and returned to camp to have her confront me. I knew this was coming but even so: WTF? Just how does she know what happened? I can't think of any other character in the game who just magically "knows" about an event that took place when he or she wasn't in the party at the time. The only logical explanation I can come up with is another party member told her, but I took Zev, Morrigan, and Shale, none of whom seem likely to tattle to the old bag.

Maybe the spirit that was keeping the guardian alive and the spirit that is keeping her alive are one and the same.

Oh, I saw that thread! I thought everyone after the original poster would surely call them out on it, but no, it was one big happy Wynne hugging family... As Alistair would say, "Creepy..."

My problem with it isn't so much that people like her--certainly she's an *interesting* character--but the fact that none of them seem to see the obvious points of hypocrisy and undeserved self-righteousness in her. I mean, they're there for a reason!

@knittzu: Shale knows if you've come back from the Anvil. However, with Shale she doesn't know all the details and you can lie to her if your persuasion is high enough. With Wynne it sounds as if she knows exactly what happened and no amount of coercion will stop her, which is strange, to say the least. For all likelihood, she doesn't *know* anything, but she's convinced herself it's true to the point that it *must* be true, right? XD

What plot-relevant mage in this game (except Jowan) -isn't- a self-righteous ****? Irving wants you to betray your only friend so he can "stick it to the man" and get a member of the Chantry in trouble. Wynne is a know-it-all who shoves her morality down your throat. Morrigan is a self-cenetered little princess who cops a fit every single time you don't act with complete sociopathy. Flemeth has a complete disregard for all living things that aren't her.

I did not get anywhere near that far, and although it sounds like something well worth reading, the General forums scare me and are a place I rarely venture... *shivers*
