Ok, CZ, NOT doing all of them though. But I'll go through the Zevran specific choices. These are actually pretty complex trees

Wynne: You're quite taken with each other, aren't you? (Gently, but with an accusing edge.)
Warden: You know about Zevran and me?
Wynne: I almost wish I didn't. Half of us aren't getting any sleep, the way you two carry on all night. (Exasperated, rolling her eyes.)
Warden: We'll try to keep it down next time.
Wynne: That's... uh, kind of you, I suppose. Anyway... (Awkward)
Wynne: I've noticed your blossoming relationship, and I wanted to ask you where you thought it was going.
Wynne: It seems he only ever has one thing on his mind. I question the wisdom of a Grey Warden being involved in such an affair. (A little disapproving and concerned.)
Warden: Zevran is special, and I have fun with him.
Wynne: Which is why I worry. You are a Grey Warden. You have responsibilities and I fear you will neglect them.
Warden: Being a Grey Warden is hard. I need to be myself sometimes.
Wynne: But you are a Grey Warden. The title is not a coat that you cast aside at the end of the day. It should inform your every action, your every decision. (Intense, strongly.)
Wynne: The way you are acting now... it is not fitting of a Grey Warden. (Chiding.)
Warden: I'm going to keep Zev around, no matter what you say.
OR
I disagree. I can be a Grey Warden and be with Zevran.
Wynne: If you insist.

What surprises me is how much of that is Zevran specific. I thought all were the same after the beginning. Nope.

Edit: Of course, you CAN have them all be the same pretty much, but these choices for the most part you only get with Zevran.

Oh dear, I have the toolkit running. Wynne hate abounds for me now! Not really, but her romance conversations IS quite different for Zevran than the other three. And where the VO comments in the others make her sound serious and concerned, with Zevran, the VO notes say things like "Exasperated, rolling her eyes." "Awkward" "A little disapproving and concerned."

Not the Zev fans' imaginations!

Aha!!  So it was not fangirlism that made us think her sermon about Zevran was more disparaging than the others.

In redoing the ending of my HNF character, I forced her to go through with Wynne's personal quest- trying to get an ending where that cow doesn't end up court mage Image IPB- and in so doing got the banter between Wynne and Zevran comparing the Circle of Magi in Antiva and Ferelden.  Zevran is asking her polite questions about whether the templars in Ferelden are as vigilant as they are in Antiva, and Wynne's tone of voice just drips with derision.  I so wanted to turn around and slap her.  As usual, Zevran handles it best, however- he ends with talking about a rumor that the mages have an orgy under the full moon and of course that shuts her up.  LOL, I love that guy.

I find this line very funny, since my dalish elf did not sleep with Zevran till after I finished the game :)

Oh, with my characters who haven't had sex with him (which he is remarkably ok with), I just figure the two of them are kicking back, talking, laughing, having fun, and taking a break from the stresses they deal with every day.  You know, all the things that Wynne would disapprove of.

Edit: I do find it interesting you can reject the tent without an approval loss with him.  But that is for another thread.

@Addai67, His banters ARE priceless. I'm not tired of them yet. Magical bosom! I wonder who is right. Zevran, or Shale with the saggy-bits! My guess, Shale.

I actually liked Wynne the first time round. I was playing a dwarf commoner, and after growing up with a mean, alcoholic mother, I thought that an interfering but interested older woman might be a pleasant change to have around. I didn't feel that my character was easily offended or needed much approval, so what Wynne said was like water off a duck's back. I took her, Zevran and Alistair everywhere, and loved listening in to their conversations. I only left her behind at the final battle because I thought I had to have Morrigan with me, and then I left her in charge at the gates. I was even a bit confused when she apologised about her speech, because I thought she had a point - being in love DID have the potential to get in the way of my mission. It was going to affect my choices at the end, certainly.

It was funny how different things felt with my elf mage. How much more personal her comments were, and how much she seemed to poking her nose in where it wasn't wanted. She completely wound him up. She was horrible after he defiled the ashes (which wasn't her business), and it was a relief to see that empty space in camp.

I can feel with you, Sannox. In my first and unspoiled play-through, my mage PC looked on her as a 'mother figure'. She was a bit naive, anyway, seeing as how she got so besotted with Alistair, and utterly ignored the writing on the wall. She also missed Wynne's side-quest somehow, I don't remember details, it's too far in the past.

However, my HNrouge saw things a bit differently. She had a mother she loved dearly, who trusted her, and who didn't butt into her business. I played her as ~26 years old, and competent enough to run the Teyrnir in Bryce's absence. She had her own mind, an successfully fended off any attempts at marrying her off and pursuing her goals with determination.

Wynne came off as absolutely horrible to her. Butting in where she was not welcome. Trying to be an advisor to a woman who did very well on her own, and knew what she wanted. Trashing Zevran did not go over well, as did her idiocy at the gauntlet. Her helplessness in the fade only added to my HN's growing disdain.

Then came Aneirin. I could not believe that Wynne actually tried to talk him into going back to the Chantry. She didn't even consider that he was labeled a malificar and the templars already tried to kill him once. The circle just (barely) survived an abomination/blood magic onslaught. Yet, she wants a man branded as a malificar to go back there? Seriously? That did it. From then on, Wynne was, and is, a persona non-grata in my games. Happy campfire keeping, have fun reading and sipping wine.

I haven't gone so far as to kill her yet, but she'll stay at the tower from now on. Morrigan does just as well with a heal spell or two, and my PC always has enough potions to set the tactics of her companions to make them use those potions if needed.

The dwarven commoner and possibly the dalish elf are the ones I feel can most easily like Wynne.

They have lived lives that result in them very possibly really not knowing the things Wynne lectures them about.

The City Elf could too, unless she/he takes Wynne to the Urn of course ;)

But the noble origins get lectured on things they know far more of than the one doing the lecturing.

How can Wynne tell them about leadership and responsibility when she herself shied away from both her entire life?

She messed up with her first apprentice and since then is too scared to really try again. So while the circle has repeatedly tried to convince her to accept a position of greater responsibility, she always refuses. But she explains to you the importance and fine details of responsibility and stepping up to it.

She reminds me of this one guy I knew who, after having a friend of his ask a girl out for him (and thus getting his first date ever), was giving the rest of us dating advice and telling us what women want. *sigh*

On another note, as I am not buying Awakening and am currently put off Bioware games, I'll be taking a break from this forum.

You can of course find me on facebook (info should be in my profile here), as well as other gaming forumZ, usually under the nickname Melkathi.

I should be hanging around again on the Earthrise forum, maybe the Secret World forum and deffinitly the Lego Universe Beta Forum (though there I go by the name Fleaflou (don't ask :P )).

Take good care of this thread. And keep it going strong!

I'm in the middle of playing Awakening, and I've got to say: Ines is awesome. She's the first NPC I've met who can't stand Wynne. Apparently she thinks she nags too much (and that played a part in Uldred going crazy and trying to kill everyone) and even calls her little miss "I'm so special the Fade shines out my bum." Seriously, the game needs more of her. She really IS a voice of reason.

The problem with Angry Alistair is he runs out of dialog pretty quickly, but you can always go talk to him anyway for a laugh. If you can hold off on -100 hostile until you make him king, it's worth it for the meanest line in the game!

What's the meanest line in the game? And does it involve sparing Loghain?

What does he say? I just can not be all that mean in a game. Especially not to Alistair.
