And there's nothing wrong with hating her! I hate quite a few NPCs myself (that said I don't go onto the support group to say so).

A bit of banter keeps things lively, but like I said, if it's relentless then yeah that's a wet blanket.

Of course, being a wet blanket in a Granny Wet Blanket's thread also has all kinds of irony.  :D

I do have to wonder, though; is seeing a character's flaws, and acknowledging them (without insulting the character and staying within what is actually in the game) actually hate? Or is it talking about the many sides of the character?

The main insults i've seen thrown around in Wynne threads are from supporters who boil down someone not liking her to, well, hating their grandmother. I think that is less supportive of the character than someone who is like, hey, she has flaws -- her advice is often bad.

From that one person? Everyone else in there acknowledges she has bad advice, is snooty and frankly can be a little self-righteous.

*grin* You have to admit he WAS pretty obnoxious and provoking!

True but the way you said it as if there was more than one person agreeing with him and that was pretty misleading.

There is at least one who is in agreement with him. Rather not name him / her.

About the grandmother thing?

Actually, Ryzaki, my original comment was a very general one. You'll see it yourself if you read this thread and other wynne threads -- people come on, more than just that one person, and make accusations like that.

I didn't isolate it to the one comment from one person, but I DID state, after you asked about him in particular, that he was very provoking.

Eh. Maybe it's because I have this thing about staying out of a fan thread and debating why I dislike the character. It seems very counter-productive to me.

It was provoking but so was a lot of the things you guys say in here.

Absolutely! Conversations are fun when people disagree as well, as long as the disagreement is well thought out and reasoned. There's a difference between vitriol for no apparent reason other than "I hate hate hate, they suck suck suck" and good, well thought out discussion.

I honestly wasn't seeing much hate in the wynne-love thread; it was more character discussion.

Edit; i thought the conversation I was having with a couple of people was very interesting and non-provocative.  Ah well, if people want to disagree with Wynne-hate, they can come here and discuss it i suppose.

Why not make this a bastion of hate, where we just hate and not discuss? Much more interesting.

Eh well, nothing to discuss in the forums now, I guess.

Just thought this was interesting if you spare Avernus:

Wait...so it was AMORAL meaning that it did not involve questions of right or wrong and not IMMORAL which would be violating moral principles? Yay! More proof that Wynne has no idea what she's talking about! Image IPB

Edit: And since when do amoral actions need consequences anyway? I did the dishwasher today, a very amoral act to be sure. I wonder what kind of 'consequences' Wynne believes I should have for that.

If by amoral, she meant no concern for "right" and "wrong", then yea Avernus is amoral. And she might define that as "evil" (so essentially for her, amoral ultimately = immoral).

EDIT: Although the act itself should not be considered amoral by her since they do involve "right" and "wrong".

She's the only one who disapproved of letting Avernus live and continue his experiments. I thought that at the very least, Alistair, Sten, and Leliana would get upset over it, but they were all pretty apathetic.

I found it odd who said what at soldier's peak.  When I decided to see what Sophia Dryden had to say, Shale of all people was incredulous that I would deal with an "evil" being, and Morrigan counseled against deals with demonkind (though that could be wisdom rather than goodness speaking).  Alistair?  Not a peep.

No, she is human there - I guess the angle makes her ear look a little pointy.

When you tell her to mind her buisness, she tells you, "I will not soon forget this".

Zev gives you +4 for talking to her.

I think the screen resolution makes the shot a little pinched.

I'm more than happy to stay out of the "fan" thread, hence the necro, but when people start talking about Wynne-haters wanting to murder-knife Grandma in her bed, I consider that fair game.

I'm surprised at the mildness of her reaction there, and at the lack of reaction from the others.

Yeah, she threatens to tattle-tale, which again is the most pointed when the PC is a mage.  I believe she says something similar with Caladrius?

Bring it, Grandma.  Image IPB Be sure to tell the templars about your "problem," too.

Did Warden's Keep have a different development team that just didn't bother to do any consistency-checking?
